Dezenzo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

For the first time since getting his first big-league call-up last Tuesday, Dezenzo will hit the bench. He had started at first base or designated hitter in each of the previous five contests, going 5-for-21 with a solo home run, a double and a walk. The Astros are expected to continue giving Dezenzo a look in a near-everyday role, but he'll need to keep hitting to build up some job security.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Rizzo (forearm) recently hit "full bore" off a Trajekt pitching machine, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Rizzo has resumed taking batting practice in recent days, but despite seemingly making good progress in his recovery from a fractured right forearm, the Yankees aren't yet willing to offer up a timeline for his return from the 60-day injured list. If or when Rizzo makes it back from the IL, he may not be guaranteed an everyday role at first base. Rookie Ben Rice (.713 OPS in 150 plate appearances) has outproduced Rizzo (.630 OPS in 291 plate appearances) since getting a promotion from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 18, when Rizzo was initially placed on the IL.

Santana is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Guardians.

Santana started the previous six games but will sit Sunday after going 6-for-22 with a double and a homer during that span. Jose Miranda will receive a start at first base and bat sixth in the series finale versus Cleveland.

Rice is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Rice will sit for the fourth time in the past five contests, with Sunday's contest being the third of those against a left-handed pitcher (Andrew Heaney). DJ LeMahieu will man first base and bat ninth in the series finale.

Turner went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a run-scoring double, a walk and a run in a win over the Mets on Saturday.

Turner had a significant hand in the Mariners' offensive output for the night, plating Randy Arozarena with his first-inning double before rapping a single to drive his teammate home again for the final run of the contest in the seventh. The multi-RBI effort was already Turner's third since joining Seattle at the trade deadline, and the multi-hit tally snapped him out of a 1-for-16 funk that had encompassed his previous five games.

Singleton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

The lefty-hitting Singleton will take a seat for the third time in four games, with two of those absences coming against right-handed pitching. The 32-year-old has managed an underwhelming .591 OPS since the All-Star break and looks to have ceded primary duties at first base to rookie Zach Dezenzo.

Dezenzo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Red Sox.

Dezenzo's first major-league homer was a 437-foot bomb off Zack Kelly in the eighth inning. Since being promoted Aug. 6, the rookie has started three games at first base and one at designated hitter. He has reached base six times with two extra-base hits and appears to be getting a legitimate chance to receive consistent playing time moving forward.

Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rays.

Mountcastle had a two-run single in the first inning and knocked in an insurance run with another single in the eighth. This was the first baseman's first multi-hit effort in August, though he's now hit safely in six straight games. For the year, he's up to a .273/.312/.438 slash line, 13 home runs, 59 RBI, 50 runs scored and three stolen bases over 442 plate appearances. He will continue to see most of the playing time at first base, with Ryan O'Hearn filling in there whenever Mountcastle needs a day off.

Rice isn't in the Yankees' lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader versus Texas.

After a 1-for-4 performance during Game 1, Rice will take a seat on the bench to start Saturday's final game. While he rests, DJ LeMahieu will handle first base and bat ninth.

Schanuel isn't in the Angels' lineup Saturday versus the Nationals, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Schanuel will get a chance to regroup after going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Friday's contest. Brandon Drury will move to first base while Schanuel sits, allowing Michael Stefanic to start at the keystone.
