Nevin (migraine) will start at first base and bat eighth Saturday versus the Blue Jays.

Migraines have prevented Nevin from playing in Oakland's last two games, but he seems to be feeling better ahead of Saturday's contest. The 27-year-old has slashed .188/.333/.313 across 21 plate appearances since the All-Star break.

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 6-3 loss to the Twins during the second game of Friday's doubleheader.

Naylor put the Guardians ahead 3-2 in the fifth inning, but Minnesota shot right back with a Matt Wallner three-run blast in the bottom of the frame. In the matinee, a 4-2 loss for Cleveland, Naylor was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. The first baseman has four homers and 12 RBI over his last 10 games, going 10-for-38 (.263) in that span. Overall, he has 26 homers, 85 RBI, 66 runs scored, 18 doubles, five stolen bases and a .243/.322/.484 slash line through 108 games this season.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora indicated Friday that Casas (ribs) will be activated from the 60-day injured list whenever the first baseman feels his timing at the plate is ready, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Casas is 8-for-25 with five doubles and a 7:2 K:BB over six rehab games with Triple-A Worcester. It sounds like the team is no longer concerned about whether Casas is ready physically and now it's just about knocking a little more rust off. While the news is relatively vague in terms of a potential timetable, it would appear Casas could be back any day now. He's been sidelined since late April with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage.

Mountcastle is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Rays, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

It's a regular day off for Mountcastle, who currently possesses a modest five-game hitting streak. Ryan O'Hearn will handle first base duties for the Orioles.

Nevin was scratched from Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to a migraine. After Thursday's team off day, he remains out of the starting nine. Considering Nevin had started in merely one of the Athletics' previous six games, his absence from the lineup perhaps isn't related to Wednesday's migraine.

Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, two total runs and four total RBI in a 7-6 win against Baltimore on Thursday.

Guerrero knocked in a run with a double in the first inning, belted a two-run homer in the fifth and added an RBI triple in the sixth. He finished a single shy of a cycle and extended his hitting streak to 20 games in the process. The slugger has been absolutely absurd during the streak, slashing .507/.575/1.096 with 10 homers, 22 RBI, 23 runs and an 11:7 BB:K.

Schanuel went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in a 9-4 win against the Yankees on Thursday.

Schanuel popped a solo homer in the first inning and added an RBI single in the third. He recorded his seventh multi-hit effort over 19 contests since the All-Star break. During that stretch, Schanuel is batting .328 (21-for-64) with four homers, nine RBI, 15 runs and a 13:14 BB:K.

Rice is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Angels.

It's southpaw Tyler Anderson toeing the rubber for the Angels, so the left-handed hitting Rice will take a seat. DJ LeMahieu is handling first base for the Yankees.

Turner (hand) started at first base in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers and went 1-for-3 with a walk.

The veteran infielder was able to avoid missing any games after getting plunked on his left hand in Tuesday's game. Turner snapped a brief 0-for-6 skid that had encompassed his previous two contests with Wednesday's production, and he boasts a .362 average and .913 OPS across 15 games since the All-Star break, with six of those games coming with the Mariners.

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 7-3 loss to the Diamondbacks in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Naylor reached the 25-homer mark with his fifth-inning solo shot. The first baseman also played in the second game, going 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Naylor had some cold stretches in July, but he's gone 13-for-40 (.325) with five extra-base hits and 11 RBI over his last 11 contests. For the year, he's slashing .246/.326/.483 with 82 RBI, 65 runs scored, five stolen bases and 18 doubles over 106 games.
