Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Another limited practice
Johnston (hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Johnston was also limited Wednesday, so he'll probably need to work fully Friday in order to approach Sunday's game against the Dolphins without an injury designation. In five games to date, Johnston has caught 26 passes on 41 targets for a team-high 377 receiving yards and four TDs, a pace that has the 2023 first-rounder firmly on the fantasy lineup radar ahead of Week 6 action.

Chargers' Kimani Vidal: Part of committee with Haskins
Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday that Vidal and Hassan Haskins will both factor in significantly Sunday against the Dolphins, but neither is viewed as the clear lead back, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Vidal was signed to the active roster Wednesday off the Chargers' practice squad, taking the roster spot that the team cleared by placing Omarion Hampton (ankle) on IR. Haskins and Vidal each played 14 snaps on offense in the Chargers' 27-10 Week 5 loss to Commanders, during which Hampton was injured. It sounds like both healthy running backs will have opportunities to capitalize on Sunday's favorable matchup against a Dolphins defense that has allowed the most rushing yards in the NFL this season. Amar Johnson and/or Nyheim Hines could also factor into the backfield mix if elevated from the practice squad.

Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Set to split with Vidal
Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday that Haskins and Kimani Vidal will both factor in significantly Sunday against the Dolphins, but neither is viewed as the clear lead back, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Haskins and Vidal are next in line for backfield touches after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, ensuring Hampton will miss at least four games. Haskins and Vidal played 14 snaps each on offense in the Chargers' 27-10 Week 5 loss to Commanders, during which Hampton got hurt. The Chargers will likely ride the hot hand at running back Sunday in a rotation that could also include Amar Johnson or Nyheim Hines if either are elevated from the practice squad against a Dolphins defense that has allowed the most rushing yards in the league this season.

Chargers' Derius Davis: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Davis (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
A knee injury has prevented Davis from playing in the Chargers' last two games, which has resulted in Tarheeb Still and KeAndre Lambert-Smith taking over as returners on punts and kickoffs. Davis would have to return to practice in at least a limited capacity over the next two days in order to have a chance at playing against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Chargers' Joe Alt: Progressing well
Coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that Alt (ankle) is doing "really well," Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Alt did not participate at practice Wednesday, but his coach's words signal optimism he could return to the field soon. He'll have two more chances to mix back into team activities before the Chargers publish their final practice report of the week Friday.

Chargers' Denzel Perryman: Designated to return from IR
The Chargers designated Perryman (ankle) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Perryman was placed on injured reserve after suffering a high-ankle sprain during the Chargers' Week 1 win over the Chiefs. The veteran linebacker has spent the four-game minimum on IR and has been cleared to return to practice, logging an LP for Wednesday's session. Perryman may have to practice in full Thursday or Friday in order for the Chargers to reinstate him off IR ahead of Sunday's road tilt against the Dolphins.

Chargers' Will Dissly: Cleared from injury report
Dissly (knee) isn't listed on the Chargers' Week 6 injury report.
Dissly is thus set to return for Sunday's game at Miami after missing each of the past three contests. Rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden took advantage initially, but he saw just one target in the Week 5 loss to Washington despite handling a season-high 61 percent route share. That number likely will drop with Dissly back in the lineup, although it's also possible Dissly mostly takes the snaps that went to Tyler Conklin and Tucker Fisk in recent weeks. Either way, it'll be some form of rotation, with long odds for any one TE to draw more than a handful of targets.

Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Limited practice Wednesday
Johnston (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Johnston logged an 82 percent snap share in this past Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Commanders, catching all four of his targets for 40 yards and carrying once for nine yards. It's unclear whether the wideout -- who lost a fumble in the contest -- is dealing with an issue coming out of Week 5 action or if his hamstring injury occurred during Wednesday's practice. Look for added context in that regard to arrive no later than Thursday, when the Chargers' next practice report is posted.
