Aamodt was placed on waivers by Colorado on Wednesday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Aamodt is expected to report to AHL Colorado if he goes unclaimed. The 27-year-old has spent parts of the past four seasons with the Eagles, so it's a team he's very familiar with. Aamodt had four goals, 17 points and 47 PIM across 69 regular-season outings with the Eagles in 2024-25. He's probably going to end up spending the vast majority, if not all, of the upcoming season in the AHL.

Aamodt played in two straight games with the Avalanche to conclude the regular season, including his NHL debut versus the Kings on Saturday. He posted one goal, three shots on net, nine blocked shots and six hits with the big club. The 27-year-old defender has three goals and 16 points in 66 AHL outings this campaign.

The 27-year-old made his NHL debut versus the Kings on Saturday, earning the opportunity as a fill-in while the Avalanche navigate injuries on the blue line. Aamodt is likely to be back with AHL Colorado shortly now that the Avalanche's regular season is over, but he'll likely come back up as a depth option if the Eagles exit early in the AHL playoffs.
