Wild's Charlie Stramel: Secures ELC
Stramel (ankle) signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Wild on Monday.
Stramel's three-year deal is set to begin in the 2026-27 season. The 21-year-old collegiate star excelled at Michigan State University this season with 19 goals, 44 points, and a plus-29 rating across 37 appearances. He's currently in the recovery process from a broken ankle, which he sustained in Michigan State's NCAA quarterfinal loss against the University of Wisconsin. Once he's healthy, Stramel will look to compete for a roster spot with the Wild ahead of next season. Regardless, he holds solid value in dynasty formats given his scoring leap in college this season.

Wild's Charlie Stramel: Season ends with broken ankle
Stramel sustained a broken ankle Saturday in Michigan State University's 4-3 overtime loss in the NCAA quarterfinals versus the University of Wisconsin, Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News reports.
The injury essentially guarantees that Stramel won't play again this season. The 21-year-old still has a decision to make, as the Wild hold his signing rights, which expire Aug. 15. That will give him a little over four months to reach a deal with the Wild or become an unrestricted free agent. He had 44 points in 36 outings in his senior year, up from 27 points in 37 contests last season, so he's certainly shown enough growth year-over-year.

Stramel had a hat trick and an assist in Michigan State University's 5-4 overtime win over Penn State on Saturday.
Stramel was the biggest star of the outdoor game, as he completed his hat trick in overtime. The Wild prospect is up to 16 goals and 19 assists through 26 appearances this season, and he's also posted a plus-26 rating. This is his final year of NCAA eligibility, so it's been a great time for him to have a breakout.

In the long run, Stramel is better suited to being a bottom-six forward who uses his physicality to be an effective forechecker.
