Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Lands eight-year extension
Cooley signed an eight-year, $80 million contract extension with the Mammoth on Wednesday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic
Cooley has had a hot start to the 2025-26 campaign, racking up eight goals and 12 points over his first 11 appearances of the season. The 21-year-old has been a key contributor for the franchise since signing his entry-level deal in 2023, and he'll now remain with the Mammoth on a long-term basis.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Opens scoring loss
Cooley scored a goal in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
Cooley has racked up six goals and three assists during his four-game point streak. The 21-year-old center is quickly ascending to superstar status. On the year, he has eight goals, 12 points, 26 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-5 rating through 11 appearances. Cooley has spent most of the season on the second line, but he could eventually get shuffled up to a line with Clayton Keller if the Mammoth's scoring pace slows down later in the year.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Hat trick in first period
Cooley scored three goals, added an assist and fired four shots on target in Thursday's 7-4 win over St. Louis.
Cooley's first big performance of 2025-26 arrived in the form of a four-point first period, including a hat trick in which all three goals were tallied in the span of less than five minutes. It was one of the best individual performances to start a game in recent memory, and it brings the 21-year-old's season totals to five goals, two assists and 17 shots on net in eight games. His connection with Dylan Guenther and JJ Peterka on the second line was evident, and that unit will look to take a big step forward in 2025-26 to help the Mammoth make the postseason for the first time since their move to Salt Lake City. Cooley is on pace to build upon his 65-point output from a year ago and could be in store for a point total north of 70 for the first time in his three-year NHL career.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Nets PP goal versus Boston
Cooley scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Bruins.
Cooley opened the scoring for the Mammoth with a deflection at the 4:20 mark of the first period, which snapped a three-game goal drought and gave him his first instance of points in consecutive games this year. Cooley is enduring a slow start to the campaign with only three points in six outings, but as one of the key pieces on offense for Utah, he should start turning things around sooner rater than later.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Breaks deadlock Saturday
Cooley scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators.
Cooley broke the deadlock for the Mammoth at the 2:21 mark of the first period with his first goal of the campaign. The 21-year-old should be one of Utah's most reliable fantasy performers and is firmly established as one of the best young players in the league after a 2024-25 campaign in which he recorded 25 goals and 65 points in 75 regular-season games.

Per Cole Bagley of KSL Sports, Cooley (undisclosed) will miss Saturday's preseason finale against San Jose, but he will be ready to play Opening Night in Colorado on Oct. 9, according to head coach Andre Tourigny on Friday.
That's great news for Cooley's fantasy managers, as the 21-year-old is one of the top young players in the NHL. He managed 25 goals and 65 points in 75 regular-season games in 2024-25, including 18 points in his last 16 contests.

Cooley (undisclosed) is back at practice Friday and in a regular jersey, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports.
Cooley has been hampered by the undisclosed injury for almost two weeks. He could return to action in time for Saturday's preseason finale versus San Jose, but if not, he should be ready to go Oct. 9 on Opening Night in Colorado. Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Ruled out for Tuesday's game
Cooley (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Tuesday's preseason game against the Kings, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Cooley has been dealing with an undisclosed injury for just over a week, and head coach Andre Tourigny said Monday that the 21-year-old will still be out for "quite a few days." Tourigny specified that Cooley isn't expected to have a long-term absence. However, Cooley's status for the Mammoth's Opening Night matchup in Colorado on Oct. 9 appears to be in question.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Won't play Thursday
Cooley (undisclosed) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's preseason game against Vegas, Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports reports.
Cooley sustained an injury during Sunday's preseason game against the Avalanche and will be unavailable for a second consecutive exhibition matchup Thursday. However, he's considered day-to-day, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to action in time for Opening Night against Colorado on Oct. 9.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Labeled day-to-day
Cooley (undisclosed) was deemed day-to-day ahead of Monday's game versus Anaheim, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Cooley was injured playing against the Avalanche on Sunday but appears not to have suffered a long-term injury. Still, the 21-year-old center won't be in the mix to face the Ducks. In 75 regular-season games last year, the 21-year-old center set new personal bests in goals (25), assists (40) and power-play points (20). Barring any setbacks, it sounds like Cooley should be ready for Opening Night against Colorado on Oct. 9.

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Departs Sunday's game
Cooley (undisclosed) exited Sunday's preseason game versus the Avalanche in the third period and did not return, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Cooley was boarded by Colorado's Zakhar Bardakov, who received a minor penalty on the play. According to Bagley, Cooley was on the ice for his next shift, but the left-shot center ultimately went to the locker room and did not come back into the game. There was no official update from the Mammoth on the rising star's health postgame, so Cooley's status will be worth monitoring ahead of upcoming fantasy drafts.
