Hurricanes' Ronan Seeley: Waived by Carolina
Seeley was placed on waivers by Carolina on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
After making his NHL debut during an appearance with the Islanders in the regular-season finale last year, Seeley signed a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina in late July. While he could join the NHL club if the Hurricanes deal with injuries at some point, the 24-year-old is slated to begin the 2026-27 regular season in the minors if he clears waivers.

Seeley agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Seeley made his NHL debut last season, appearing in the regular-season finale against the Islanders. The 23-year-old defenseman logged 15:12 of ice time in that game while producing two blocks. While Seeley could see a little more action this year, he's unlikely to be a mainstay on the Canes' blue line, making him a relative non-factor in fantasy contests.

Seeley made his NHL debut Tuesday. He didn't record a point or a shot, but he was credited with two blocks across 15:12 of ice time in a 2-1 win over the Islanders. The 23-year-old defenseman has 10 goals and 22 points in 67 AHL appearances with Chicago this campaign. He'll reunite with the Wolves as they gear up for the Calder Cup Playoffs.
