Wild's Daemon Hunt: Lands one-year agreement
Hunt signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with Minnesota on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Hunt contributed six assists, 19 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and 21 hits in 32 regular-season appearances with Minnesota in 2025-26. He will be in the mix for a depth role with the big club during training camp.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Nabs first career playoff point
Hunt registered an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 2.
Hunt's helper was his first career playoff point, coming in his second appearance. The 23-year-old defenseman is filling in for Jonas Brodin (lower body) on the left side of the Wild's blue line, though the team is leaning heavily on what's left of its top four. Hunt picked up six assists, 43 blocked shots, 21 hits and 19 shots on net over 32 regular-season outings.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Earns assist Monday
Hunt notched an assist and three shots on goal in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Blues.
Hunt got into a top-four role with power-play time since the Wild had four regulars on the blue line out of the lineup for either rest or injury management. Hunt can be penciled in to play again Tuesday versus the Ducks in the regular-season finale, but the 23-year-old is unlikely to see much action in the playoffs. He has earned six helpers, 19 shots on net, 21 hits and 41 blocked shots over 31 outings this season.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: No path to playing time yet
Hunt was scratched for the 16th game in a row in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Red Wings.
Hunt's path to playing time is currently blocked, though that could change if the Wild opt to rest some players ahead of the playoffs. The 23-year-old defenseman would otherwise need another blueliner to get hurt to open space for him in the lineup. Hunt has five helpers, 15 shots on net, 39 blocked shots and 19 hits over 29 appearances this season.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Good to go for Wednesday's game
Hunt (upper body) is available for Wednesday's game against the Predators, Wild radio broadcaster Joe O'Donnell reports.
Hunt exited Monday's game against the Canadiens due to an upper-body injury that he sustained when he took a shot up high, but he'll be able to suit up in Minnesota's final game ahead of the Olympic break. Over his last 13 appearances, he has recorded three assists, 17 blocked shots, four hits and a minus-3 rating while averaging 11:17 of ice time.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Takes shot up high Monday
Hunt (upper body) will not finish Monday's game versus the Canadiens, according to Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News.
Per Loucks, Ivan Demidov took a shot that ramped up Hunt's stick and hit the defenseman in the neck. The 23-year-old Hunt immediately went to the locker room and did not return. If he's unable to suit up in the Wild's final game before the Olympic break, which is Wednesday in Nashville, David Jiricek will draw back into the lineup.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Nabs helper in overtime loss
Hunt notched an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Islanders.
The assist was Hunt's first point in two games since he returned from missing 10 contests due to an undisclosed injury. The 23-year-old is filling a third-pairing role now that he's healthy again, giving him low fantasy upside. He's earned three assists, four shots on net, 20 blocked shots, 11 hits and a plus-4 rating over 14 outings this season.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Set to return Thursday
Hunt (undisclosed) will be taken off injured reserve and play Thursday in Seattle, per Sarah McLellan of The Minnesota Star Tribune.
Hunt hasn't been in the lineup since Dec. 16. He has two assists, four PIM, 11 hits and 18 blocks in 12 outings in 2025-26. Matt Kiersted might be a healthy scratch Thursday due to Hunt's return.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Placed on injured reserve
Hunt (undisclosed) was put on injured reserve Thursday, per the NHL media site.
Hunt left Tuesday's tilt against Washington in the opening period and did not return. The 23-year-old blueliner has two assists, 11 hits and 18 blocked shots across 12 NHL appearances this season. Look for Carson Lambos to enter the lineup, replacing Hunt on Thursday in Columbus.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Exits Tuesday's contest
Hunt (undisclosed) didn't finish Tuesday's game versus the Capitals, and there was no update on his status from head coach John Hynes, Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News reports.
Hunt joins a growing list of injured blueliners, which could leave the Wild thin on defense heading into Thursday's road game versus the Blue Jackets. The 23-year-old hasn't officially been ruled out for that contest yet, but he may be deemed unavailable if the Wild call up another blueliner.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Gathers assist in win
Hunt logged an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.
Hunt continues to play in a third-pairing role. He's suited up in four straight games due to the absences of Jake Middleton (upper body) and Jonas Brodin (upper body), and with David Jiricek (lower body) joining the injured ranks Sunday, Hunt may get a longer look in the lineup. Hunt has little fantasy upside, as he has just two assists with 10 hits, 17 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 11 appearances this season.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Gets first helper
Hunt logged an assist and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.
Hunt made his second appearance of the season, and it appears he might have some momentum to stay in the lineup over David Jiricek. The 23-year-old Hunt has added one shot on net and two hits across his two outings. Even if he stays in the lineup, he's unlikely to be a power-play option, which will limit his scoring potential.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Snagged off wire
Hunt was picked up off waivers by the Wild on Friday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Hunt has appeared in 13 regular-season NHL games in his career, all for Minnesota, as he returns to the team that selected him in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft. The acquisition of Hunt from waivers doesn't bode well for Jack Johnson turning his professional tryout into a permanent NHL contract.

Blue Jackets' Daemon Hunt: Designated for waivers Thursday
Hunt was waived by the Blue Jackets on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Hunt's impending demotion to the minors comes as a bit of a surprise, considering there were reports he had secured his spot on the Opening Night roster. The move could still just be temporary, as the Jackets have until Oct. 9 to recall the blueliner from the minors. For now, Denton Mateychuk appears to have secured a spot on the roster ahead of Hunt.

Blue Jackets' Daemon Hunt: Lands one-year contract
Hunt signed a one-year, two-way contract with Columbus on Friday.
Hunt saw action in one NHL game last season with the Wild before he was part of a trade that sent David Jiricek to Minnesota on Nov. 30. The 23-year-old Hunt spent the rest of the regular season with AHL Cleveland, picking up two goals and 12 assists in 48 games. He could see a couple of games at the NHL level in 2025-26, especially if the Blue Jackets run into injury problems on their blue line.

Blue Jackets' Daemon Hunt: Acquired in trade
Columbus obtained Hunt, a top-five protected 2025 first-round pick, a 2026 third-round selection, a 2026 fourth-round choice and a second rounder in 2027 from Minnesota on Saturday in exchange for David Jiricek and a 2025 fifth-round pick.
Hunt has four assists in nine AHL outings this season. He also has one helper in 13 career NHL appearances. The 22-year-old defender will provide some defensive depth and could see game action with the Blue Jackets in 2024-25, but he will report to AHL Cleveland following the trade.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Sent back down
Hunt was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Sunday.
Hunt was brought up earlier in the week, though he served as a healthy scratch in Minnesota's last two games. If Jonas Brodin (upper body) can't play in the Wild's next game Tuesday against the Blues, Hunt could be brought back up as a seventh defenseman.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Brought up from minors
Hunt was summoned from AHL Iowa on Tuesday.
Hunt's recall may not bode well for the availability of Jonas Brodin (undisclosed) ahead of Thursday's game against Montreal. If Brodin doesn't play Thursday, Declan Chisholm may enter the lineup, while Hunt could be a spare defender.

Wild's Daemon Hunt: Returned to AHL
Hunt was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Tuesday.
Hunt logged 8:01 of ice time in his season debut versus St. Louis on Oct. 15, posting two shots on goal and blocked shots. He has one assist in two AHL outings this season.
