Steelers' Roman Wilson: Lands on injured reserve
Wilson (finger) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Wilson already had been ruled out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, but the move to IR means that the third-year pro will be required to miss at least four games. Since the Steelers are on a bye for Week 9, the earliest that Wilson can return is Week 11 against the Eagles on Sunday, Nov. 22. He joins Michael Pittman (foot) on injured reserve, which leaves rookie second-rounder Germie Bernard as the Steelers' WR2 behind DK Metcalf for the next few weeks.

Steelers' Roman Wilson: Won't play Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay
Head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Wilson (finger) will not play against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Nick Farabaugh of SteelersNow.com reports.
Wilson is set to miss at least a couple of weeks due to a finger injury that he sustained during the Steelers' 34-22 win over the Colts on Sunday, so it's not surprising to see him already ruled out for Week 6. There's a chance he could return for Week 7 against the Saints on Sunday, Oct. 25, but in the absence of both Wilson and Michael Pittman (foot, IR), the Steelers will rely more heavily on DK Metcalf, rookie Germie Bernard, running back Jaylen Warren and tight end Pat Freiermuth in the passing game.

Wilson (finger) is expected to miss a couple of weeks after exiting Sunday's 34-22 win over the Colts, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Wilson is still gathering more information about his injury and is seeking a second opinion, so an official timeline for his recovery may not be determined until he decides on a treatment plan. The third-year wideout out of Michigan logged 20 snaps and was unable to haul in his lone target in Sunday's game before leaving the contest just before halftime. After previously moving Michael Pittman (foot) to injured reserve Saturday, Pittsburgh's receiver depth will be further tested with Wilson likely to be sidelined for at least the team's Week 6 game at Tampa Bay.

The Steelers ruled out Wilson (finger) for the rest of Sunday's game against the Colts, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
With Pittsburgh moving Michael Pittman (foot) to injured reserve Saturday, Wilson appeared headed for a larger role in the receiving corps. Unfortunately for the third-year wideout out of Michigan, he was unable to capitalize in Week 5, as he failed to haul in his lone target before exiting the game late in the second quarter. With Ben Skowronek (leg) also ruled out for the second half, the Steelers will be left with DK Metcalf, Germie Bernard, Kaden Wetjen and Brandon Smith as their available options at receiver.

Steelers' Roman Wilson: May have hand/wrist injury
Wilson was favoring his hand or wrist as he went to the locker room just before halftime of Sunday's game against the Colts, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.
On a play that initially was an 11-yard catch on the field but overturned following review, Wilson appeared to suffer the injury. Its nature isn't known, but Germie Bernard, Kaden Wetjen and Brandon Smith could be in line for WR reps after halftime behind DK Metcalf if Wilson isn't able to return.

Steelers' Roman Wilson: Early-season success continues
Wilson brought in three of six targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' 27-24 loss to the Browns on Thursday.
Wilson capped off a marathon 17-play opening drive for the Steelers with a play by showcasing his speed, as the second-year wideout scored from 12 yards out on a shovel pass from Aaron Rodgers. Wilson has at least three catches in each of his first four games, and Thursday's yardage total established a new season high after he'd also done so with his 60-yard tally in Week 3. Wilson also has exactly six targets in each contest thus far, cementing him as a key complementary component of the air attack heading into a Week 5 home matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Wilson came out of the gates hot Sunday, securing a 38-yard touchdown from quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the team's opening drive of the game. The wide receiver led the team in targets in Week 3, and he has now registered exactly six targets in each of the team's first three contests this season. Wilson stepped into the WR2 role alongside DK Metcalf for Sunday's game due to the absence of Michael Pittman (foot). Wilson responded by leading all Pittsburgh pass catchers in receptions, though he averaged only 5.6 yards per catch in a game where Aaron Rodgers averaged only 4.8 yards per pass attempt. The wide receiver saw six targets in total and played on 37 of 67 offensive snaps. Wilson tied with Jaylen Warren for the second-most targets on the team behind DK Metcalf, so he's clearly a part of the passing game. What he will do with that role moving forward remains to be seen.
