Chiefs Rookie CB Mansoor Delane in Line for Large Role

Player Outlook
The Rams selected Daniels in the sixth round of the NFL Draft from Miami, and he will compete for a reserve role this season. He is not worth drafting in the majority of leagues. In 2025 with the Hurricanes, Daniels caught 50 passes for 557 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games. He could emerge as the No. 3 receiver for the Rams behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but Daniels will have to prove he's better than Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith for that role. Barring an injury, we don't expect Daniels to make a significant Fantasy impact in 2026, but if he does, then you can add him off the waiver wire during the season.

Fantasy News

  • Rams' CJ Daniels: Records two catches vs. Kansas City

Daniels caught two passes on five targets for 18 yards during the Rams' 20-12 preseason win over the Chiefs on Saturday. Puka Nacua (groin), Davante Adams and Jordan Whittington were all sidelined for Saturday's exhibition contest, allowing Daniels to be listed as a starter. Daniels had a somewhat quiet game, though he connected with Ty Simpson on a 16-yard catch to set the Rams up deep in Chiefs' territory, leading to a two-yard touchdown pass from Simpson to Dean Connors on the next play. Daniels was a sixth-round selection of the Rams in the 2026 NFL Draft, and the rookie is competing against Xavier Smith, Konata Mumpfield and Tyler Scott for a depth role on offense. The Rams' next preseason game takes place Saturday, Aug. 22 against the Saints.

  • Rams' CJ Daniels: Picked up by Rams

The Rams selected Daniels in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 197th overall. Daniels played for three different schools during his six-year college career, which ended with Miami in 2025, when he caught 50 passes for 557 yards and seven touchdowns across 13 games. He brings a 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame with good instincts and an all-around package that can help him compete at the NFL level, even if there isn't a specific category or trait that he excels in. Daniels will have the opportunity to compete against Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield for the Rams' WR3 spot behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
