Eagles' Darius Cooper: Inefficient with six targets Sunday

Cooper caught two of six targets for 19 yards Sunday in a Week 8 loss to Washington.
Both of Cooper's catches came in the first half -- he didn't haul in any of his three targets in the second half. The second-year wideout led Eagles wideouts with 66 offensive snaps and finished second with the six targets, but it didn't amount to much production, as he couldn't form much of a connection with QB Tanner McKee. Despite an elevated role due to injuries to DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) the past two weeks, Cooper has just three catches for 36 yards in that span, making him an unappealing fantasy option.

Cooper caught one of three passes for 17 yards during the Eagles' 38-21 loss to the Cowboys on Monday.
With both DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) sidelined, the Eagles' wide receiver group was led by Cooper, rookie Makai Lemon and Hollywood Brown during Monday's contest. Cooper led the position group with 61 offensive snaps, but he only had a 17-yard catch to show for it, which he logged on the Eagles' final play of the first quarter. He has only two catches on five targets for 26 yards over his last two games, and his profile as a boom-or-bust touchdown option in fantasy is severely hampered with Tanner McKee under center instead of Jalen Hurts (calf, IR). The Eagles will hit the road for Week 8 against the Commanders on Sunday.

Cooper saw his offensive workload decrease with the return of DeVonta Smith in Week 6, and as a result, he failed to reel in multiple passes for the first time since Week 3. With Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon all active, Cooper's ceiling will be limited from a fantasy perspective moving forward.

Cooper had a great Fantasy game in Week 4 against the Rams with three catches for 33 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets, and he scored 18.3 PPR points. DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was out in Week 4, and we'll see if he plays against the Jaguars in Week 5 in London. Dontayvion Wicks (three catches for 18 yards on five targets in Week 4) could also have a bigger role against Jacksonville, and Makai Lemon (three catches for 27 yards on six targets) is also in the mix. It's tough to trust the Eagles right now with a slew of injuries on offense, especially against a tough Jaguars defense. But it's worth taking a flier on Cooper, who also scored a touchdown in Week 2 at Tennessee, for 1 percent of your remaining FAAB.

With DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dallas Goedert (knee) out versus Los Angeles, Cooper actually led the Eagles in targets and receiving yards while securing both of Jalen Hurts' touchdowns. Each score was of the red-zone variety. Despite carrying a 20-10 lead into halftime, Philly was unable to do anything on the scoreboard after the break. Cooper is unlikely to have much fantasy appeal moving forward if Smith is able to return next Sunday against Jacksonville.

Cooper finished fourth among Philadelphia wideouts in snaps, taking the field for 21 of the Eagles' 71 offensive plays (30 percent). Brown and DeVonta Smith stay healthy, the undrafted rookie out of Tarleton State is unlikely to see his role on offense expand.

The Tarleton State product played 12 offensive snaps and operated as the Eagles' No. 4 wideout in the Week 12 loss.
