  • Terrell Jennings: Sticking around New England

Jennings was signed to the Patriots' practice squad Wednesday. Jennings went unclaimed on waivers after being cut loose by the team Tuesday, and he will now stick around New England as a member of the practice unit. The running back played in three regular-season contests with the Patriots in 2024, so he's certainly familiar with the organization.

  • Terrell Jennings: Doesn't make initial roster

The Patriots waived Jennings on Tuesday, per the team's official site. Jennings played in three games with New England as an undrafted rookie last year, rushing 13 times for 33 yards while failing to catch his only passing target. He's a candidate to land on the Patriots' practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Patriots' Terrell Jennings: Plays in three games as a rookie

Jennings finished the 2024 regular season with 13 carries for 33 yards in three games with the Patriots. Jennings, who originally joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent last May, didn't make the team's initial 53-man roster and spent the bulk of his 2024 season on the practice squad. The Florida A&M product remains under contract with New England in 2025 and will thus have an opportunity compete for a complementary role in a backfield that's currently led by Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson and figures to add some depth options this offseason.

  • Patriots' Terrell Jennings: Gets roster spot with New England

The Patriots signed Jennings to their 53-man roster Saturday, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports. New England originally gave Jennings a look by signing him as an undrafted free agent in mid-May. The Florida A&M product didn't make the Pats' roster out of training camp, but he has been on the team's practice squad and was elevated for Week 6 against Houston, when he carried five times for 13 yards. Jennings will provide running back depth Sunday against Buffalo due to JaMycal Hasty being ruled out with an ankle injury, and given New England's current 3-11 record, the team may elect to give Jennings a longer look before the regular season is over.

  • Terrell Jennings: Reverts to practice squad

Jennings reverted to the Patriots' practice squad Monday. The running back got the call-up Sunday with starter Rhamondre Stevenson out with a foot injury. Jennings played on 14 of 66 offensive snaps in New England's 41-21 loss to Houston, recording five carries for 13 yards. The Patriots' top two running backs in the game, Antonio Gibson and JaMycal Hasty, handled 32 and 21 snaps, respectively.

  • Patriots' Terrell Jennings: Gets elevation from practice squad

Jennings was elevated from the Patriots' practice squad to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's Week 6 matchup versus Houston, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jennings will get his first elevation -- and potentially his first NFL action -- as a result of New England's starting running back, Rhamondre Stevenson, being ruled out for Week 6 due to a foot injury. Jennings played college ball at Florida A&M and was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May. He'll likely work behind Antonio Gibson and JaMycal Hasty in New England's backfield Sunday.

  • Patriots' Terrell Jennings: Signs with New England

Jennings signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent Monday. Jennings ran for 704 yards and 10 touchdowns during his final collegiate season at Florida A&M last year. The running back recorded 1,860 yards and 24 touchdowns in his 44-game college career. The rookie will now try to catch on in a Patriots backfield headed by incumbent Rhamondre Stevenson and free agent signee Antonio Gibson.
