Turner seems unlikely to suit up for Saturday's preseason finale against the Dolphins. Cincinnati's next game after that is the Sept. 7 regular-season opener against the Browns. Turner's expected to start at cornerback when healthy. The 2023 second-round pick has appeared in 28 regular-season games (18 starts) over his first two NFL seasons.

Turner spent the last six games of the 2024 season on the sidelines healing from a broken collarbone, but he's now back on the field for offseason workouts. More promising yet for Turner is that he's drilling as a starter at corner opposite Cam Taylor-Britt. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed Tuesday that Turner sustained a fractured clavicle during Sunday's loss to the Chargers and will be placed on injured reserve, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Just as the Bengals had feared, Turner suffered a significant injury in the Week 11 loss, and there's a good chance he'll miss the remainder of the season as a result. The loss of Turner will likely open up a starting spot in the secondary for rookie fifth-rounder Josh Newton. Expect the Bengals to formally place Turner on IR later this week.

Turner claimed a starting role with Cincinnati by Week 12 of his rookie season, but the 2023 second-round pick is now in a true competition with Hill, who lined up at safety last season. Conway reports that Hill could have an early lead in the competition as of mandatory minicamp, but it will be difficult to make much of offseason practices until full pads come on at training camp in late July.
