  • 49ers' Skyy Moore: Makes first grab with 49ers

Moore recorded three receptions on six targets for 19 yards in Saturday's 30-23 preseason win over the Chargers. Moore technically didn't start, but he was heavily involved both on special teams and in the offense early in the game. His most notable contribution as a receiver came on a 12-yard catch on a pass delivered by Carter Bradley. However, his most likely path to contributing to start the regular season could be as a punt or kick returner, and he recorded a 26-yard kick return in Saturday's preseason finale.

  • 49ers' Skyy Moore: Likely to play Saturday

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Thursday that Moore is expected to suit up for Saturday's preseason finale against the Chargers, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports. The 49ers acquired Moore via trade from the Chiefs on Wednesday for a swap of late-round picks, and while he still needs to pass his physical upon arriving at team facilities Thursday, the 2022 second-round pick looks set to debut with his new squad quickly. Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson (suspension) are currently the only healthy options among San Francisco's top five wide receivers, and the latter won't be available the first three games of the regular season, so Moore could face immediate opportunities on offense if he's able to get up to speed quickly in Shanahan's scheme.

  • 49ers' Skyy Moore: New opportunity with 49ers

Moore was traded from the Chiefs to the 49ers on Wednesday for a swap of late-round picks, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. Moore was on the roster bubble in Kansas City but will now get a new home. He isn't likely to ever deliver on the hype he received as a second-round pick in 2022, but he could have a role in the short term with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and Demarcus Robinson (suspension) in line to miss the beginning of the season.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Back at practice

Moore (hamstring) is practicing Sunday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Prior to Sunday, Moore hadn't practiced since exiting early Tuesday due to a hamstring injury. The issue doesn't appear to have been serious since Moore is back on the field less than a week later. Moore is trying to cement his place in a Chiefs wideout pecking order that is unsettled beyond top three options Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown (ankle).

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Dealing with hamstring injury

Moore left Tuesday's training camp practice due to a hamstring injury, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. Moore may have been pulled as a precautionary measure, but it does put his availability over the next few days in question. The 2022 second-rounder needs all the reps he can get, as he is competing for a depth spot on the Chiefs' 53-man roster after being limited to just six regular-season games in 2024 due to an abdominal injury. The absences of Moore, Xavier Worthy (head) and Hollywood Brown (ankle) will give Nikko Remigio, Tyquan Thornton and Jason Brownlee the opportunity to get more reps on offense during team drills.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Taking part in OTAs

Moore (abdomen) has been participating in Chiefs' OTAs this week, John Dillon of Chiefs Wire reports. Moore was inactive for the Chiefs' Super Bowl loss to the Eagles due to the injury, but he's healthy again after appearing in just six regular-season contests last season. Moore was inactive from Week 8 onward in 2024 and is likely running out of chances in Kansas City as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Not available for Super Bowl

Moore (abdomen) was not activated off injured reserve on Saturday and has been ruled out for Super Bowl LIX against the Eagles on Sunday, per the NFL's transaction report. Moore was able to practice in a limited fashion this week, but he was unable to progress enough in his recovery from an abdominal injury to be activated off IR. Moore will finish the 2024 campaign having played just six regular-season games without recording a catch.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Listed as doubtful for Super Bowl

Moore (abdomen) was limited in Friday's practice and is officially listed as doubtful for Super Bowl LIX against the Eagles on Feb. 9. Moore has logged two limited practice sessions since being designated for return from IR, but he's trending in the wrong direction to be able to contribute versus Philadelphia in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs will host one more week of practices prior to deciding Moore's status, so it's possible he could still be activated to the 53-man roster if he can impress in his remaining opportunities.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Practice window opens Thursday

The Chiefs designated Moore (abdomen) to return from injured reserve Thursday, Jesse Newell of The Kansas City Star reports. Moore was placed on injured reserve Oct. 24 due to a core-muscle injury. He wasn't expected to return for the postseason, but Kansas City opted to open the 2022 second-round pick's 21-day practice window. He was spotted working out with the returners during Thursday's practice and was officially listed as a limited participant. If Moore is able to log full practices next week, he could be activated to the Chiefs' 53-man roster for Super Bowl LIX against the Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 9.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Not expected to return in postseason

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Monday that there's no return plan for Moore (abdomen) in the postseason, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Moore has been on IR since late October due to a core-muscle injury. While Reid said Monday that fellow wideout Mecole Hardman (knee) has a chance of returning at some point in the playoffs, that doesn't appear to be the case for Moore. As such, it's likely that the third-year wideout's campaign will come to an end with Moore having logged no catches on three targets over six games.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Lands on IR

The Chiefs placed Moore on injured reserve Thursday due to a core-muscle injury. Moore joins fellow wideouts Hollywood Brown (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (knee) on IR, with the move occurring on the same day that DeAndre Hopkins was officially traded to the Chiefs. The soonest Moore can return to game action is Nov. 24 against the Panthers, but it's unclear if he'll be ready to go by then. Head coach Andy Reid said that the receiver's injury will "need to get fixed," implying that Moore will soon get surgery, per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. Prior to his placement on IR, the 2022 second-round pick did not record a catch on three targets over six games.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Fails to make impact Week 1

Moore played 10 offensive snaps (19 percent) but was not targeted in the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night. Moore wasn't able to record any offensive statistics in Kansas City's season-opener. Rookie first-round pick Xavier Worthy logging a two-TD debut effectively curtails any lingering hope that Moore will have a late breakout, especially once Marquise Brown (shoulder) manages to get healthy. With Rashee Rice, Worthy and Brown all available, Moore may not end up being active on game days.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Needs to earn spot on roster

Moore isn't a lock to make the 2024 roster, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher. The 2022 second-round pick has averaged 1.4 catches for 16.5 yards through 30 regular-season games, mostly serving as Kansas City's fourth or fifth wide receiver. It won't be surprising if Moore ends up earning a depth job again, though his fate partially depends on how things play out with the 2024 NFL Draft, Rashee Rice's legal situation, and Kadarius Toney's health, among other factors. Rice and free-agent signing Marquise Brown figure to play a lot when available, though neither can exactly be called reliable. Even so, Moore's lack of playing time and production through two seasons suggests he's not the most likely beneficiary in the event things go south for one of the team's starters. Kansas City seems optimistic about Toney and Justin Watson and might devote an early draft pick to the position.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Logs full practice Wednesday

Moore (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday. After the Chiefs activated him from injured reserve earlier in the day, Moore handled every on-field rep after being contained to three limited practices during the first week of Super Bowl LVIII prep. It remains to be seen to what extent the team incorporates Moore into the offense Sunday against the 49ers, but in three of five games before sustaining a swollen knee Week 15, he logged at least a 49 percent snap share.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Questionable after first week of SB prep

Moore (knee) was limited at Friday's practice and is listed as questionable after the first week of prep for Super Bowl LVIII against the 49ers. The Chiefs placed Moore on injured reserve after Week 15 due to a swollen knee, which so far has sidelined him for six consecutive contests. Because the team designated him for return from IR on Jan. 17, a decision to activate him will need to take place by Wednesday, and there's no telling if he's done enough to get back on the active roster after being listed as limited on all three practice reports this week. If he does, Moore should retain a small role in a Kansas City receiving corps with modest options behind No. 1 Rashee Rice on Sunday, Feb. 11.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Listed as limited

Moore (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Moore last played Week 15 and was designated for return from injured reserve Jan. 17. The Chiefs will need to activate him from IR by Feb. 7 in order for him to be eligible to play in the Super Bowl matchup with the 49ers on Feb. 11. Even if that happens, Moore might not have much of a role. He played just 35 and 25 percent of snaps in his final two games before landing on IR, and he hasn't seen more than three targets in a game since Week 6.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Won't play Sunday

Moore (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens. Moore, who was designated to return from injured reserve Jan. 17, didn't practice at all this week and will thus target a potential return to action Feb. 11 should the Chiefs advance to the Super Bowl. Prior to suffering his knee injury, Moore had logged 21 catches on 38 targets for 244 yards and a touchdown in 14 regular-season contests.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Reels in all three targets

Moore gathered in all three targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 31-17 victory over the Raiders. Moore hadn't tallied more than a pair of catches in a game since Week 3 and hasn't finished with more receiving yards since then, either. That said, neither his receptions nor receiving yards are particularly impressive from a fantasy standpoint. The second-year wideout hasn't found pay dirt since Week 2 and can safely remain on the waiver wire in most formats.
... See More ... See Less
  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Snares one pass versus Eagles

Moore had one reception (on two targets) for four yards during Monday's 21-17 defeat against the Eagles. Moore hasn't hauled in more than two passes since Week 3 and turned in his lowest receiving total since Week 4's goose egg Monday night. He also has outputs of 11, 15 and eight yards among his last five contests, so there's little to get excited about regarding the second-year wideout's fantasy prospects. He did, at least, see an uptick in playing time again, logging 51 percent of the offensive snaps after logging just 23 percent last time out, but he hasn't drawn more than three targets in any of the last four games.
... See More ... See Less
  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Playing time drops in Week 9

Moore caught two of three targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 21-14 victory versus the Dolphins. Moore logged just 25 percent of the offensive snaps for the Chiefs in Week 9, his lowest percentage of the season. His stat line falls on par with previous weeks, with his two grabs matching his output in three of the previous four games, but he did finish with his highest receiving yardage total since Week 3 against the Bears. Regardless, there's little to get excited about surrounding the second-year wideout's fantasy prospects the rest of the way.
