Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson should both benefit with Antonio Gibson (knee) out for the season, and both are worth using as flex options against the Saints, who are No. 10 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. A running back has scored at least 14.4 PPR points against New Orleans in every game this season, and Stevenson is most likely to reach that threshold with his touchdown potential. He's also scored at least 14.7 PPR points in two of his past four games coming into Week 6. Henderson will hopefully start to get more work with Gibson out, and it would be great if the Patriots featured him in this matchup.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Scores twice, but fumbles again
Rotowire
Stevenson took seven carries for 14 yards, two touchdowns and a lost fumble while adding two receptions for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Bills.
Stevenson led New England's three-headed backfield with his seven carries Sunday, rewarding fantasy managers with a pair of trips to the end zone. The bad news for the veteran rusher was that his ball security woes continued with his third lost fumble in as many games. Stevenson's case of fumblitis didn't cost his team a shot at victory like it did in Week 3 against the Steelers. That said, it wouldn't be surprising if the Patriots lean more heavily on TreVeyon Henderson and Antonio Gibson going forward if Stevenson is unable to correct his turnover issues.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Tallies 41 total yards in win
Rotowire
Stevenson rushed nine times for 38 yards and brought in his only target for three yards in the Patriots' 42-13 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Stevenson outpaced TreVeyon Henderson (seven) and Antonio Gibson (six) in carries despite his Week 3 fumbling nightmare, as head coach Mike Vrabel held true to his word about not dinging Stevenson's workload. Sunday's game script also allowed New England to take a ground-centric approach due to its large lead. Stevenson appears to still be the top option -- albeit by a thin margin -- in a three-man committee heading into a Week 5 road showdown against the Bills next Sunday night.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Won't be disciplined for fumble issues
Rotowire
Coach Mike Vrabel noted Friday that Stevenson is not being "disciplined" per se in the wake of the running back's fumbling issues last week, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Stevenson lost two fumbles in the team's Week 3 loss to the Steelers and ended up with four carries for 18 yards and three catches for 38 yards in the contest. While Vrabel indicated that he doesn't plan to bench Stevenson (who has started all three of New England's game to date) Sunday against the Panthers, it's still possible that ball security could factor into how the carries are divided between Stevenson, Antonio Gibson (seven carries, with a fumble versus Pittsburgh) and TreVeyon Henderson (11 carries, no fumbles Week 3). In that context, Stevenson profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option in Week 4 lineups.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Can't hang onto ball in loss
Rotowire
Stevenson carried the ball four times for 18 yards and caught all three of his targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Steelers. He also committed two fumbles.
After a very impressive Week 2 performance, Stevenson was largely to blame for New England's Week 3 loss, losing the ball on the first possession to set up Pittsburgh's first TD of the day, and then fumbling again on the Steelers' one-yard line in the third quarter. The Patriots' running game struggled as a whole Sunday, with QB Drake Maye leading the team in rushing yards and Antonio Gibson also losing a fumble. Stevenson's struggles holding onto the ball could open the door for rookie TreVeyon Henderson to see a much bigger role in Week 4 against the Panthers.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Sleeper RBs
Rotowire
Stevenson was a standout Fantasy option in Week 2 at Miami with 21.2 PPR points, and we'll see if he can have another quality outing in Week 3 against Pittsburgh. He's worth using as a flex option in all leagues, and you should trust him over TreVeyon Henderson right now based on how the Patriots are using both running backs. Against the Dolphins, Stevenson had 11 carries for 54 yards and five catches for 88 yards on five targets. This week, Stevenson faces a Steelers defense that has been destroyed by Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker III in consecutive games as each running back scored at least 16.5 PPR points. Hopefully, Stevenson can follow suit in Week 3.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Career-best receiving day in win
Rotowire
Stevenson rushed 11 times for 54 yards while catching all five of his targets for 88 yards in Sunday's 33-27 win over the Dolphins.
Stevenson set a new career high in receiving yards, fueled by a 55-yard reception in the third quarter. He operated as the lead back while rookie second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson and Antonio Gibson combined for eight carries and three targets, though Gibson also contributed a kickoff return touchdown on special teams. Stevenson is the team's preferred option on early downs, and he could hold off the alternatives in passing situations if he continues to shine as a pass catcher like he did Sunday. The 27-year-old running back's fantasy value is trending up ahead of a Week 3 home game against a Steelers run defense that has struggled to begin the season.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Limited to nine touches in loss
Rotowire
Stevenson rushed seven times for 15 yards and brought in two of three targets for 12 yards in the Patriots' 20-13 loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
Stevenson entered Week 1 as the presumptive lead back, although rookie second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson is already ticketed for a solid complementary role at minimum. However, Week 1 usage between the two players actually tilted toward Henderson due to his expansive pass-catching role (six receptions), although game script did play a part in that as well. Henderson is the more explosive of the two, but Stevenson could fill the role of the preferred early-down option in a Week 2 road matchup against the Dolphins if the game remains close.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Sits out preseason finale
Rotowire
Stevenson (undisclosed) didn't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants.
Stevenson, who has been managing an unspecified injury that isn't viewed as significant, sported a non-contact jersey in his return to practice this week, per Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, but there's nothing to suggests that his Week 1 status is in any danger. Added clarity in that regard will arrive no later than the Patriots' first official injury/practice report, but as the coming season approaches Stevenson is set to reprise his key role in a backfield that also includes dynamic 2025 second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson, along with fellow returnee Antonio Gibson. Though Henderson remains the upside play from a fantasy standpoint and figures to cut into Stevenson's volume this season, there should be enough touches, in an offense that could lean toward the run, for both players to carry weekly fantasy lineup utility.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Practices with non-contact jersey
Rotowire
Stevenson (undisclosed) returned to practice Monday, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Stevenson, who didn't play in this past Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, had been managing an unspecified injury that wasn't considered significant, and the running back's return to the field Monday aligns with that, though Callahan notes that Stevenson was sporting a non-contact jersey during the session. With that in mind, it's unclear if Stevenson will be available for Thursday's exhibition finale against the Giants.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Injury not viewed as significant
Rotowire
Coach Mike Vrabel noted Wednesday that the unspecified injury Stevenson is dealing with is not considered significant, Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston reports.
The report adds that Vrabel doesn't anticipate a long-term absence for Stevenson, but at this stage the running back appears to be trending toward missing Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings. When healthy, Stevenson and promising rookie TreVeyon Henderson are projected to form a 1-2 punch this season in a New England backfield that also includes Antonio Gibson.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Misses another practice
Rotowire
Stevenson (undisclosed) won't practice Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Per Mark Daniels of MassLive.com, coach Mike Vrabel noted Wednesday that Stevenson is dealing with an (unspecified) injury that he sustained in this past Friday's preseason contest against the Commanders. As a result, the running back's status for Saturday's game against the Vikings is cloudy.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Not practicing Monday
Rotowire
Stevenson (undisclosed) wasn't spotted at practice Monday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Stevenson also didn't practice Sunday, so it's possible that he came out of Friday's preseason win over the Commanders (a game in which he carried seven times for 36 yards) with some sort of injury. For now, consider the running back day-to-day ahead of Saturday's contest against the Vikings.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Absent from Sunday's practice
Rotowire
Stevenson (undisclosed) was not present at Sunday's training camp practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
It could be a maintenance day for the veteran running back, who played 10 snaps on offense and logged seven carries for 36 yards in the Patriots' 48-18 preseason win over the Commanders on Friday. Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson both saw all their work in the first quarter, and the duo are expected to work in a committee when the regular season gets underway.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Slims down this offseason
Rotowire
In an interview with Mike Garafolo of NFL Network and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Thursday, Stevenson indicated that he's lost 10-11 pounds since last season.
As he heads into his fifth campaign as a pro, Stevenson is set to continue his key role in a New England backfield that also includes 2025 second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson, along with fellow returnee Antonio Gibson. While Stevenson is on track to log his share of backfield touches out of the gate this season, Henderson no doubt will earn a solid portion of the work as well, with Gibson mixing in. For his part, Stevenson noted that he aimed to slim down this offseason with an eye toward staying fit for the long haul while unlocking more breakaway speed, which is something that Henderson has plenty of himself. From a fantasy standpoint, Henderson is the upside play, which is reflected in his current ADP, but with the Patriots' passing game a work in progress, Stevenson's role in the ground game, even while working in tandem with Henderson, should be steady enough to keep him on the weekly lineup radar.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Rushes for 801 yards this season
Rotowire
Stevenson finished the 2024 regular season with 207 carries for 801 yards and seven TDs to go along with 33 catches (on 41 targets) for 168 yards and another score in 15 games.
Stevenson suited up for the Patriots' season finale Sunday, but was rested by the team, which led to Antonio Gibson leading the backfield in Week 18. Stevenson is under contract with New England through 2028, so he's set to reprise his lead role in 2025. After recording one fumble in 12 contests during the 2023 campaign, Stevenson logged seven fumbles (three lost) in 2024. Though that was a concerning trend, the running back likely will try to make tightening things up on that front a priority this coming offseason. While New England has a franchise QB (Drake Maye) in place, after a 4-13 effort that led to the dismissal of head coach Jerod Mayo, there figures to be plenty of roster churn in the coming months, though Stevenson and Antonio Gibson (signed through 2026) will at least provide some continuity at the running back position.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: RBs to Sit
Rotowire
We don't know if the Patriots will go back to Stevenson as the main running back in Week 18 against the Bills or stick with Antonio Gibson, which is what happened in Week 17 against the Chargers. Stevenson started the game but was likely limited in his touches after he fumbled against Buffalo in Week 16. He had two carries for 1 yard and one target against the Chargers, while Gibson had 12 carries for 63 yards and one target. I would try to avoid the Patriots backfield if possible since it could be messy, even with the Bills expected to rest starters since they are locked into the No. 2 seed in the AFC.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: RBs to Sit
Rotowire
We have an interesting situation at play with the Patriots in Week 17 since Jerod Mayo indicated Antonio Gibson could start for New England against the Chargers because of Stevenson's fumble woes. Stevenson lost his third fumble of the season in Week 16 at Buffalo, and he also dropped a backward pass from Drake Maye that was recovered in the end zone by the Bills. And just because Gibson starts that doesn't mean Stevenson won't play. The Chargers have given up some big games lately to Derrick Henry, Bijan Robinson and Bucky Irving in their past five games, and Stevenson has scored at least 12.3 PPR points in three of his past six games. But he also has 9.5 PPR points or less in three games over that span. I still like Stevenson as a flex option, but he's risky if Gibson starts in this game.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Could cede start to Gibson
Rotowire
Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo suggested Monday that Stevenson could give way to Antonio Gibson as the team's starting running back in Week 17 against the Chargers, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
In his first 13 appearances of the season, Stevenson had received more snaps than Gibson in all but two of those contests, but the playing time tilted in Gibson's favor during Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Bills. Stevenson took the field for 32 of New England's 73 plays on offense, finishing with 60 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries to go with a 13-yard reception. However, he lost his third fumble of the season, and he also dropped a backward pass from Drake Maye that was recovered in the end zone by the Bills, although that fumble was charged to the QB. Gibson, meanwhile, paced Patriots running backs with a 59 percent snap share, but he was less effective as a rusher (10 carries for 28 yards) and also fumbled, though he at least recovered it. Even if Mayo follows through and appoints Gibson as the team's starter, Stevenson could still end up being heavily involved in the game plan and seeing the more valuable touches if he keeps his goal-line role. Ball security issues earlier in the season prompted Mayo to hand Gibson a Week 5 start against Miami, but Stevenson still finished with 12 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown to go with four catches in that contest.

Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: RBs to Sit
Rotowire
The Bills are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, but I would only consider Stevenson a flex option at best in the majority of leagues. He hasn't scored a touchdown in his past five games, and he scored 8.7 PPR points or less in three outings over that span. He continues to share touches with Antonio Gibson, and this game could get out of hand for the Patriots quickly with how well Josh Allen is playing for Buffalo. It's risky to trust Stevenson in the Fantasy semifinals in most leagues.
