Battle registered six assisted tackles during the Bengals' 37-24 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Battle played every single snap during Sunday's game, though he wasn't able to register a solo tackle for the first time this season. • Bengals' Jordan Battle: Cincy's leading tackler in loss

Battle recorded seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 48-10 loss at Minnesota. After Sunday's performance, Battle leads the Bengals in tackles (23) through three games in 2025. He has been a bright spot on a defense that has looked mediocre to start the season, and he is worthy of IDP consideration going into a Week 4 tilt at Denver.

  • Bengals' Jordan Battle: Output declines in 2024

Battle recorded 58 total tackles and three passes defended, including one interception, across 17 games in 2024. The Alabama product experienced a dip in production during his second season in the NFL, seeing declines in tackles (71 to 58), passes defended (five to three) and defensive snaps played (507 to 442) compared to his rookie year. However, Battle came on late in the season and helped the Bengals' defensive resurgence, tallying 33 total tackles and one interception while starting over Vonn Bell in the team's final six games. With Bell set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason, Battle will aim to build on his strong finish to 2024 and is likely to start alongside Geno Stone in the Bengals' secondary in 2025.

  • Bengals' Jordan Battle: Picks off DTR in Week 16

Battle recorded seven total tackles (six solo) and one interception in Sunday's 24-6 win over the Browns. Battle rebounded from a head-scratching fumble through the back of the end zone in Week 15 with his impressive performance in Week 16. The second-year safety from Alabama led Cincinnati's defense in total tackles and picked off Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the fourth quarter of Sunday's blowout win. The Bengals' top safety duo of Battle and Geno Stone both nabbed interceptions in Week 16 and will look to stay hot in the Week 17 matchup against the Broncos.

  • Bengals' Jordan Battle: Bungles near-touchdown play Sunday

Battle recorded 10 tackles (five solo) and a fumble recovery during Sunday's 37-27 win at Tennessee. Late in the third quarter, Battle scooped up a Tony Pollard fumble in the backfield at Cincinnati's 39-yard line. Sixty yards later, there was nothing between Battle and the first touchdown of his career, but he inexplicably lost his handle on the ball just before crossing the goal line and lost a fumble of his own to give possession back to the Titans. He'll be hoping to stay off the blooper reel in Week 16 versus the Browns.

The Bengals selected Battle in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 95th overall. Out goes Jessie Bates, in comes Battle to compete for a role at safety. Battle is a sure-tackling prospect out of Alabama who amassed an impressive 251 combined stops over four seasons with the Tide. He didn't test as a standout athlete, but Battle also had multiple long interception returns for touchdown while in college. Battle and Dax Hill could form a promising young safety tandem in Cincinnati.
