Watts (undisclosed) was waived by the Jets after the two sides reached an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Watts was set to miss the entirety of the 2026 campaign while on injured reserve with the Jets after suffering an undisclosed injury during training camp. The defensive lineman will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, he'll have the ability to pass a physical and play elsewhere this season.

Jets' Eric Watts: Not playing Week 16
Rotowire
Watts (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Watts was not cleared to practice all week while in the league's concussion protocol, and he'll look to progress enough to be available for the Jets' Week 17 home tilt against the Patriots on Sunday, Dec. 28. Micheal Clemons and Braiden McGregor should both see a slight uptick in defensive snaps Sunday in Watts' absence.

Jets' Eric Watts: Considered unavailable Wednesday
Rotowire
Watts (concussion) was estimated to be a non-participant at the Jets' walkthrough practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Watts suffered a concussion in the team's loss to the Jaguars in Week 15, and his inability to participate to open the week comes as no surprise. The defensive end will have to clear concussion protocol to play in Week 16, and that seems like quite the uphill battle at the moment.
