Player Outlook
Packers rookie Matthew Golden has shined in training camp and Reed reportedly suffered a Jones fracture in his foot and will try to play through it. This isn't the combination of news that would make the talented Reed a reliable Fantasy option. You should only be interested in him with a late-round pick. Reed was once on track to be among the hottest young receivers in the league, but a reduction in workload has impacted him greatly. Reed has only seen 169 targets in his first 33 games in a Packers pass attack that has spread the ball around. He has made up for that at times with extreme efficiency, run game usage, and a pretty ridiculous 11.3% touchdown rate on his touches. None of those things are reliable predictors of future Fantasy success for a starting wide receiver. Reed's best format is Best Ball due to his spike week potential. He has eight games with at least 18 PPR Fantasy points since he entered the league, the same number as Drake London.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Fighting through Jones fracture

Reed (foot) has a Jones fracture in his left foot but plans to play through the injury this season, Jason Wilde of CBS Madison reports. Reed returned to practice Wednesday after resting for three weeks, acknowledging afterward that he wasn't 100 percent and was still "working through" the injury. It's an issue that often requires surgery and a multi-month timeline for rehab/recovery in such a scenario. He'll thus try to avoid surgery, or at least delay it until the offseason, but his fantasy value plunges with the added injury risk (and possibility of reduced performance or limited workloads). Reed intends to play Week 1, although Green Bay's medical staff has a reputation for being cautious with injured players. He's participating in Thursday's padded practice scrimmage, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Still dealing with some pain

Reed, who returned to practice Wednesday, said he can't run routes without discomfort after dealing with a foot injury for a good portion of training camp, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports. Reed had been sidelined since at least Aug. 7 due to a health concern that caused him to wear a walking boot for close to a week earlier this month. He relayed that he recently started running routes again and primarily feels some pain when he attempts to plant and cut, leaving his status for Week 1 unknown. Having said that, Reed's return to the field Wednesday is a step in the right direction as the Packers turn their focus to a season-opening matchup with the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 7.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Returns to practice

Reed (foot) practiced Wednesday, Bill Huber of SI.com reports. This marks Reed's first visible on-field work since the first week of August after dealing with a foot injury. Earlier Wednesday, GM Brian Gutekunst said the Packers were "hopeful" that Reed would be able to suit up Week 1 against the Lions, according to Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com. Considering Reed looked crisp while running routes and catching passes from QB Jordan Love (thumb) on Wednesday, there's a decent chance he goes down as a full participant when Green Bay is required to post its first practice report of the season next Wednesday.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Team 'hopeful' for Week 1 appearance

GM Brian Gutekunst said Wednesday that the Packers are "hopeful" that Reed (foot) will be available for a Week 1 matchup against the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 7, Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com reports. Reed wore a walking boot to protect a foot injury for less than a week in mid-August, but even after shedding it, he hasn't returned to practice. He thus sat out the Packers' entire preseason slate and now is exactly a week away from the team beginning on-field prep for the season opener. Next Wednesday's practice report may provide the first hint about whether Reed is on course to suit up against Detroit.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Sheds walking boot, not practicing

Reed (foot) is not wearing a walking boot at Thursday's practice, though he is not participating in on-field activities, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Reed appears to be making incremental progress in his recovery from a lingering foot injury, though he still appears on track to sit out Saturday's preseason game against the Colts as the Packers continue to prioritize his availability for Week 1. Green Bay's passing offense is heavily depleted at Thursday's practice, with Jordan Love (thumb) sidelined, along with wideouts Reed, Romeo Doubs (back), Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Christian Watson (ACL), the latter of whom remains on the active/PUP list.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Not certain to be ready for Week 1

Reed is wearing a walking boot, and his foot injury is not the same as the toe issue he dealt with entering training camp, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. It had been presumed that Reed was dealing with a minor issue and was being held out of Saturday's preseason opener simply as a precaution, but there is more concern about his status now that he's wearing a walking boot. When head coach Mat LaFleur was asked about the talented wideout's potential availability for Week 1 after Saturday's loss to the Jets, he conveyed hope that Reed would be available but added "anytime you see a guy in a boot that's a concern." If Reed's injury carries into the regular season, Dontayvion Wicks (calf) could be asked to take on a bigger role early, and Matthew Golden could function as Green Bay's top wideout.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Practicing after all

Reed (toe) is participating in full-team drills Friday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. It sounds like there was a miscommunication, as Reed made a spectacular catch in 11-on-11s just minutes after he was announced as a non-participant. In any case, this confirms that the toe injury he suffered Thursday is nothing serious.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Not practicing due to toe injury

Reed will miss Friday's practice with a toe injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Reed left Thursday's practice early, with Packers coach Matt LaFleur explaining Friday morning that the wideout had an issue with his cleats. The problem apparently led to some discomfort or pain that can't be immediately solved by new cleats, but this doesn't sound like anything that will keep Reed out for long.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Bulks up in offseason

Packers passing game coordinator Jason Vrable said Wednesday that Reed (shoulder) has bulked up to 199 pounds this offseason and is acting as a leader in the wide receiver room, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Reed's playing weight was listed at 187 pounds last season, so if he's able to retain his quickness despite adding bulk, additional muscle will boost his odds of managing a Year 3 breakout. General manager Brian Gutekunst said that the team still views Reed as its "top receiver" despite drafting Matthew Golden (23rd overall) and Savion Williams (87th overall) in the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, but it's nonetheless difficult to project exactly how much target volume the slot specialist will be able to demand in what now looks like one of the league's more crowded WR rooms. Reed has managed to lead Green Bay in both receptions and receiving yards in his first two seasons in the league, but he's not yet strung together a 1,000-yard season. He was forced out of the team's playoff loss to Philadelphia early due to a dislocated shoulder, but Reed was able to avoid surgery and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said he "looks great" at voluntary practices.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Hurts shoulder in wild-card game

Reed is questionable to return to Sunday's wild-card matchup against Philadelphia due to a shoulder injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Reed took a hard hit to his shoulder after making a catch in the third quarter. Fellow wideout Romeo Doubs has also exited to be evaluated for a concussion, leaving Dontayvion Wicks as the Packers' presumptive top wideout for the time being. Bo Melton and Malik Heath are also wide-receiver options for Jordan Love, and tight end Tucker Kraft could become an even more important part of the team's passing game.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Two catches in Week 18 loss

Reed caught both of his targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Bears. He also rushed three times for three yards and lost a fumble. The Packers like to get the speedy Reed involved in the run game, but he had a pair of lowlights on the ground in this one, as he fumbled at the end of a four-yard run in the second quarter and was stuffed for minus-2 yards on a fourth-down carry to start the fourth quarter. Reed slumped down the stretch, as this was only the second time he exceeded 35 receiving yards in the last eight games. He finishes the regular season with 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns on 75 targets, as well as 163 yards and a touchdown rushing. Reed will try to get back on track when the Packers travel to Philadelphia in the wild-card round, likely without fellow wide receiver Christian Watson (knee).

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Shut down by Minnesota

Reed recorded one reception on four targets for six yards in Sunday's 27-25 loss to the Vikings. Targets were projected to condense in the Green Bay offense with Christian Watson (knee) sidelined, making Reed's stat line even more disappointing. His biggest impact on the game came midway through the second quarter when he dropped a pass that would have been a conversion on fourth down. Since Green Bay's Week 10 bye, Reed has failed to reach 35 receiving yards in six of seven games.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Leading receivier on MNF

Reed had three receptions (on four targets) for 76 yards while taking his lone carry for five yards in Monday's 34-0 rout of the Saints. Reed wound up finishing as the game leader in yards from scrimmage for either side in what turned out to be a one-sided matchup. Dontayvion Wicks hauled in the only passing touchdown of the night, but it was an otherwise strong showing from Reed. It was the 24-year-old's highest yardage total since recording 113 receiving yards against the Lions in Week 9. Reed remains a hit-or-miss asset in fantasy ahead of Sunday's tilt against Minnesota.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Five catches, three carries in win

Reed caught five of six targets for 34 yards and rushed three times for 27 yards in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Seahawks. Reed was more involved after seeing just one target in Week 14 against the Lions, as he tied Christian Watson for the team lead in targets and led the Packers in catches, though four teammates had at least 34 receiving yards as well. Reed also produced 10 yards on two punt returns, one of which he muffed for a fumble but managed to get back on top of the ball. The slumping wide receiver will be a touchdown-dependent fantasy option in Week 16 against the Saints given his sporadic recent usage, but Reed's a perennial threat to score considering he has 17 total touchdowns through 30 career regular-season games.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: WRs to Sit

Reed could benefit in this game with Romeo Doubs (concussion) out, but Reed has been tough to trust lately. He's had four targets or less in four of his past five games, and he scored less than 10 PPR points in four of those five outings. The Dolphins are No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and Miami has not allowed a receiver to score a touchdown in three games in a row against the Rams, Raiders and Patriots, with only five touchdowns allowed to receivers all season. I would only start Reed in three-receiver leagues in Week 13.
... See More ... See Less
  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Takes three receptions for 26 yards

Reed corralled all three of his targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 38-10 win over the 49ers. Unlike last week's two-catch effort, Reed was unable to hit pay dirt against the 49ers and left fantasy managers with paltry production. The speedy sophomore did not record a rushing attempt, and he hasn't had a positive gain as a runner since back in Week 5. Reed still has enough upside on any given week to be worth considering, but he is likely more of a deep-league asset due to his propensity for posting duds heading into Thursday's matchup against the Dolphins.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Scores TD on two catches

Reed secured both targets for 23 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for minus-5 yards in the Packers' 20-19 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also returned one punt for 16 yards. Reed seemed to be on his way to a big day when he capped off the opening drive of the contest with a 15-yard touchdown grab, but he drew only one additional target on the afternoon. Reed's two-catch tally was his third such in the last four games, although the TD reception snapped a three-game scoreless drought for the second-year wideout. Reed's volume is difficult to trust in a Packers offense that typically feeds a significant number of targets, making him a risky fantasy option heading into a tough Week 12 home matchup against the 49ers.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Tops 100 yards

Reed recorded five receptions on six targets for 113 yards in Sunday's 24-14 loss to the Lions. The entire Green Bay offense was bogged down by rainy conditions and otherwise sloppy play in the loss, though Reed was a bright spot. He accounted for three of the team's four longest plays from scrimmage with receptions that went for 41, 32 and 28 yards. The end result was his third game this season in which he topped 100 receiving yards, and he continues to perform very efficiently on relatively limited targets.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Good to go for Sunday

Reed (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Reed cleared up any concern about his health heading into Sunday's contest after he logged a full practice Friday following limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. Though he's been held under 30 total yards in both of the Packers' last two contests, Reed still paces all Green Bay position players with 562 yards from scrimmage through seven games.
... See More ... See Less
  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Remains limited in practice

Reed (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. Reed continues to deal with the ankle injury that forced a brief exit during a Week 6 win against the Cardinals. He hasn't been too productive the last two games, turning 10 touches into 38 yards from scrimmage and one receiving TD, but he has a nice on-paper matchup Sunday against a Jaguars defense that has yielded the second-most YPT (8.7) to opposing wide receivers this season. Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not he carries a designation into the weekend.
