Bengals' Chase Brown: Busy day as receiver in loss
Rotowire
Brown rushed 11 times for 37 yards and brought in eight of 14 targets for 75 yards in the Bengals' 47-42 loss to the Bears on Sunday.
The wild back-and-forth nature of the game limited Brown's rushing opportunities against a vulnerable Bears run defense, but the third-year back made up for it with his work as a receiver. Brown's catch and target totals were both team and season highs, and he did manage to log double-digit carries for the third straight contest. Brown will face the Steelers' inconsistent run defense on the road when the Bengals return from their Week 10 bye on Sunday, Nov. 16.

Bengals' Chase Brown: RBs to Start
Rotowire
Brown is hot coming into Week 9 with 23 carries for 181 yards and a touchdown and five catches for 24 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in his past two games against Pittsburgh and the Jets. Joe Flacco (shoulder) started those two games, and hopefully Flacco is healthy for this matchup with the Bears. Chicago has allowed six running backs to score at least 13.1 PPR points this season, and Brown should add to that total, especially if Flacco is ready to play.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Tops 100 total yards with two TDs
Rotowire
Brown rushed 12 times for 73 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 39-38 loss to the Jets.
Brown's 19-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter marked his first trip to the end zone since he scored on the ground back in Week 1, and he tacked on a one-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also set a new season high with 105 scrimmage yards, topping his 100 against Pittsburgh in Week 7. Fellow Bengals running back Samaje Perine also had his best game of the season with 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown, so Brown could face more competition for touches in a Bengals backfield that's trending up ahead of a Week 9 home game against the Bears.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Season-best yardage total in win
Rotowire
Brown rushed 11 times for 108 yards and brought in two of four targets for minus-8 yards in the Bengals' 33-31 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
Brown left a mostly frustrating first six games of the season in the rearview mirror Thursday, posting a season high in rushing yards by a wide margin. Prior to Thursday, Brown hadn't even cracked 47 rushing yards in any contest, but he blew past that threshold on his way to his first 100-yard tally since Week 9 of last season, with the help of a season-long 37-yard run. Brown's overall workload still remained modest, however, but Cincinnati doesn't figure to have to take as much of a pass-heavy approach when the Bengals return to action in a Week 8 home matchup against the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Loses touch dominance
Rotowire
Brown rushed the ball nine times for 42 yards in Sunday's 27-18 loss to the Packers. He added two catches on two targets for seven yards.
Brown finally showed some efficiency on the ground thanks primarily to a 13-yard run shortly before halftime. However, his day was defined by a shift in touch allocation in the Cincinnati backfield, with Samaje Perine earning eight total touches to Brown's 11. Game script may have dictated that late in the contest, but Perine drew the Bengals' first carry and recorded only two of his touches when the team was in a hopeless situation on the scoreboard. There's no obvious candidate to fully displace Brown in the Cincinnati backfield, but this was the team's first signal that it may be growing weary of his lack of efficiency.

Bengals' Chase Brown: RBs to Sit
Rotowire
I'm hopeful that the addition of Joe Flacco will turn things around for the Bengals and Brown, but he's still just a flex option at best in the majority of leagues against the Packers. Green Bay is No. 8 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and Brown has been held to 11.8 PPR points or less in four games in a row, without scoring a touchdown. Now, he does have 10 catches on 11 targets in his past two games, which is encouraging. But Brown has rushed for 47 yards or less in every game this year, and the Packers should be able to contain him again in this Week 6 matchup.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Seven catches in loss
Rotowire
Brown rushed the ball eight times for 27 yards in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions. He added seven receptions on eight targets for 21 yards.
The Bengals were scripted out of the run game early on, as they were down by multiple scores for three quarters of the game. Brown had another uninspiring game as a rusher as a result, though he did earn his most involvement as a pass catcher this season. The end result won't provide any reassurance for fantasy managers moving forward, but Brown did deliver a serviceable performance in PPR formats.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Efficient with 13 touches in loss
Rotowire
Brown rushed 10 times for 40 yards and brought in all three targets for 31 yards in the Bengals' 28-3 loss to the Broncos on Monday night.
Brown's opportunities were limited by game script, but he turned in his most efficient performance of the season as both runner and receiver. Prior to Monday night, Brown hadn't averaged more than 2.9 yards per carry in his first three contests, and his 10.3 yards per catch versus Denver edged the 9.0 figure he'd mustered on two grabs Week 2 against the Jaguars. The Bengals offense appears stuck in the mud over its first two full games with Jake Browning at the helm, however, so Brown's fantasy prospects remain muted heading into a Week 5 home matchup against a tough Lions defense.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Disappears in Week 3 loss
Rotowire
Brown rushed 10 times for three yards and brought in four of five targets for 17 yards in the Bengals' 48-10 loss to the Vikings on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
Brown's final rushing line tells the tale of both limited opportunities due to game script and next to no running room against a talented Vikings front seven. The third-year back's rush attempts and rushing yardage totals were unsurprisingly season-low figures, and Brown could only very modestly make up for the shortfall with his work through the air. The Bengals will look for a reset in a Week 4 road matchup against the Broncos, but that presents as another extremely challenging matchup for Cincinnati's Jake Browning-led offense as a whole.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Inefficient again
Rotowire
Brown recorded 16 rushes for 47 yards in Sunday's 31-27 win over the Jaguars. He added two receptions on three targets for 18 yards.
Brown was the only Bengals running back to record a carry for the second straight game to begin the season. However, he was also extremely inefficient once again, averaging only 2.9 yards per attempt with a long of just 11 yards. This performance was a bit more justifiable, as Jake Browning entered the game halfway through the second quarter after Joe Burrow (toe) was sidelined, allowing the Jaguars to focus on short areas of the field defensively. The Bengals don't have strong alternatives to Brown for carries, but he now has only 90 rushing yards on 37 attempts across the first two games of the campaign.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Dominates rushing workload
Rotowire
Brown rushed the ball 21 times for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Browns. He added two receptions on three targets for eight yards.
The Bengals' offense was sluggish in their Week 1 win, and Brown's performance was a mix of positive and negative. He was very inefficient, averaging only 2.0 yards per carry with a long gain of eight yards. On the other hand, Brown was the only Bengals running back to get a carry, and he also converted a one-yard touchdown at the goal line. While the stat line wasn't particularly strong, Brown's usage will keep him locked in as one of the best fantasy options at the position.
Brown (ankle) is inactive for Saturday's game at Pittsburgh.
Brown suffered a right ankle sprain near the end of regulation of last Saturday's overtime win versus the Broncos. Despite the running back not practicing during Week 18 prep, there was some hope that he'd be available this Saturday, as offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher noted to Ben Baby of ESPN.com on Monday. Officially listed as questionable, Brown's availability was subject to a game-day decision, per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer via coach Zac Taylor. During his pregame warmup, Brown's right ankle was heavily taped, per Bridget Condon of NFL Network, but his attempts to cut on the ankle seemingly didn't go well, according to Condon. With his lack of availability now confirmed for Saturday's contest, Brown will hand off the Bengals backfield to Khalil Herbert, who will be backed up by Trayveon Williams and Kendall Milton.
Brown (ankle) isn't expected to play Saturday at Pittsburgh, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
Brown emerged from last Saturday's overtime victory against the Broncos with a sprained right ankle, which didn't allow him to practice during Week 18 prep. Still, the Bengals gave him a chance to suit up this weekend by listing him as questionable on their final injury report Thursday. In the end, Brown went through a pregame workout that may not have gone well when he attempted to cut, per Bridget Condon of NFL Network. Cincinnati will confirm Brown's status once the team posts its inactive list about 90 minutes before an 8:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but it appears as if Khalil Herbert will be the Bengals' lead running back Saturday.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Not practicing Thursday
Rotowire
Brown (ankle) was spotted working out with trainers off to the side during Thursday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Brown hasn't logged any practice activity this week, and he appears to be trending toward being listed as a non-participant on Thursday's injury report. Once practice concludes, the Bengals will reveal whether Brown carries a designation into Saturday's game against the Steelers. If Brown ultimately can't play Saturday, the Bengals would turn to Khalil Herbert to lead their backfield.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Sits out walk-through practice
Rotowire
Brown (ankle) didn't participate Tuesday in the Bengals' walk-through practice, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.
Brown is tending to what's believed to be a mild right high-ankle sprain, which he suffered late in this past Saturday's 30-24 overtime win over the Broncos. Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said Monday that he's hoping Brown will be ready to play in Saturday's regular-season finale in Pittsburgh. If Brown is forced to sit out the Week 18 contest, Khalil Herbert would likely serve as the Bengals' top option out of the backfield.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Could play in Week 18
Rotowire
Brown, who is dealing with a right ankle sprain, has a chance to play next weekend against the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Brown was hurt during Saturday's 30-24 overtime win over the Broncos, but according to Rapoport, the running back's ankle injury is not considered major. Added context regarding Brown's Week 18 status will arrive once the Bengals resume practice, but in the event that he's limited or out versus Pittsburgh, Khalil Herbert would be next in line for work in Cincinnati's backfield.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Dealing with sprained ankle
Rotowire
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said following Saturday's 30-24 overtime win over Denver that Brown is dealing with a right ankle sprain, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Brown's injury occurred late in the fourth quarter as he slid near the Broncos' goal line in an attempt to avoid the end zone in order to run time off the clock. Cincinnati was able to pull out the must-win game in OT, but Brown was ruled out before the final points were scored. When asked about Brown's injury after the game, Taylor stated, "I just know it's an ankle sprain, we'll see from there," per Pelissero. The Bengals remain alive in the playoff race, but it's unclear if they'll have their No. 1 running back for next weekend's regular-season finale versus Pittsburgh.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Ruled out of Saturday's game
Rotowire
Brown won't return to Saturday's game against the Broncos due to a right ankle injury.
Brown had his right leg bent under him as he slid just before the goal line inside of the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter. He got to his feet but took only a few steps before falling back to the turf. After a few minutes, Brown made his way to the sideline but had a clear limp as he moved about before being ruled out. Khalil Herbert will man the backfield for the Bengals for the rest of overtime.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Over 100 total yards in win
Rotowire
Brown rushed 18 times for 91 yards and brought in all three targets for 18 yards in the Bengals' 24-6 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Brown was the only Bengals running back to log a carry and was typically efficient while also carrying out a modest role in the passing game. The standout second-year pro has at least 70 rushing yards in four of the last five games and multiple receptions in all but one contest, affording him a very safe fantasy floor heading into a Week 17 home matchup against the Broncos on Saturday afternoon.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Goes for 143 yards on 27 touches
Rotowire
Brown carried the ball 22 times for 86 yards while catching five of seven targets for 57 yards in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers.
Brown continues to be the bell cow for Cincinnati's backfield, surrendering no carries to fellow running backs while producing 143 yards on 27 total touches. The sophomore out of Illinois failed to extend a modest three-game touchdown streak, but it's hard to scoff at this kind of production from a player that was likely snagged off the wire early in the fantasy season. Brown will enter Cincinnati's bye week with 957 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns in as many games played (12) as his rookie season.
