  • Patriots' Deneric Prince: Reverts to IR with New England

Prince (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve with the Patriots on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Prince signed with the Patriots on Sunday, but he quickly suffered an undisclosed injury at practice, which is set to sideline him for the entirety of the 2025 season while on IR. The running back would be eligible to return to action this year if he reaches an injury settlement with New England.

  • Deneric Prince: Waived with injury designation

The Patriots waived Prince (undisclosed) with an injury designation Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Prince didn't play in the Patriots' preseason opener against the Commanders last Friday and will now head to injured reserve once he clears waivers. There was buzz about Prince in the Chiefs camp two summers ago, but he failed to make the team and spent two seasons on their practice squad.

  • Deneric Prince: Let go by KC

Kansas City has waived Prince, according to Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star. With Prince not slated to be included on the team's initial 53-man roster, Carson Steele appears to have secured a depth role in the backfield behind Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Prince could still land on Kansas City's practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • Chiefs' Deneric Prince: Six touches in preseason loss

Prince rushed four times for 16 yards and brought in both targets for 10 yards in the Chiefs' 26-13 preseason loss to the Jaguars on Saturday night. He also returned one kickoff for 25 yards. Prince was the third running back to record a touch after Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire had finished their work for the night. The second-year Tulsa product currently slots in as the No. 3 running back on the preseason depth chart, but he'll have to hold off the more experienced Keaontay Ingram for that role over the remaining two preseason games.

  • Deneric Prince: Back to practice squad

Prince reverted to the Chiefs' practice squad Monday. Despite the absence of Isiah Pacheco (shoulder), Prince was unable to crack the backfield rotation of Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon. Prince played just five snaps on special teams and none on offense. He'll wait for another opportunity to be elevated, which could happen Week 15 against the Patriots if Pacheco sits out for a second straight game.

  • Chiefs' Deneric Prince: Moves to active roster

Prince was elevated from the practice squad Saturday. It'll be interesting to see how the Chiefs will utilize Prince, especially in the absence of Isiah Pacheco (shoulder). Head coach Andy Reid stated Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be the team's de-facto starter and it's widely expected Jerick McKinnon will likely see a significant snap share as the team's pass-catching back, but it's possible the rookie Prince could whittle away at the former's opportunities, especially in obvious running situations.

  • Deneric Prince: Returns to practice squad

Prince reverted to Kansas City's practice squad Monday. Prince was active for Sunday's loss to the Packers as Jerick McKinnon (groin) was out, but he didn't see any playing time. The rookie undrafted free agent will now wait for another opportunity to be called up for action.

  • Chiefs' Deneric Prince: Elevated ahead of Sunday's contest

The Chiefs elevated Prince to their active roster Saturday. The rookie running back's elevation likely comes in response to Jerick McKinnon (groin) being ruled out for Sunday night's affair. Prince has yet to appear in an NFL game, but he's been with Kansas City's practice squad since the end of August. He'll more than likely back up Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the Chiefs' Week 13 outing.

  • Deneric Prince: Let go by K.C.

Kansas City waived Prince on Tuesday. With Prince being among the players waived or released by the defending champs Tuesday, Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire are the three running backs remaining on the team's 53-man roster. That said, Prince could be added to Kansas City's practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Deneric Prince: Expected to sign with Kansas City

The Chiefs are expected to sign Prince as an undrafted free agent, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Prince rushed 314 times for 1,723 yards and 14 touchdowns over his final three seasons at Tulsa, including a career-high 729 rushing yards during the 2022 campaign. The 6-foot running back barely made an impact in the passing game, but he did finish his senior year with nine receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs' running back depth chart is set at the top with Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but Prince could carve out a depth role with a strong showing during training camp.
