Dolphins' Daviyon Nixon: Inks deal with Miami

The Dolphins signed Nixon on Thursday. Nixon hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2022, but during his two-year stint with Carolina, the 2021 fifth-rounder recorded 15 total tackles across 14 outings. The Iowa product will likely compete for a depth role on the Dolphins' defensive line this offseason.

Carolina signed Nixon to the 53-man roster Tuesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. The 2021 fifth-round pick began the season on Carolina's practice squad. He played 14 percent of defensive snaps during Week 3's win over the Saints, in which he recorded one assisted tackle.
