49ers' Dominick Puni: Expected to miss multiple weeks
Rotowire
Puni suffered a possible PCL injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders and is expected to miss a few weeks, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that Puni will have a chance to be ready for the Niners' Week 1 game against the Seahawks, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Starting left guard Ben Bartch is already sidelined with an elbow injury, so San Francisco's offensive line depth is already getting thin.

49ers' Dominick Puni: Locked in as starting RG
Rotowire
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that it would be difficult to take away the starting right guard spot from Puni as the regular season approaches, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Puni was selected by San Francisco in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The rookie out of Kansas is currently slated as the No. 3 right guard on the 49ers' unofficial depth chart behind Spencer Burford and Jon Feliciano. However, with the endorsement of Shanahan, it appears the starting job is Puni's to lose.
