  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Starts all 17 games in 2024

Cook finished the 2024 season with 78 tackles (55 solo) and five pass breakups, including two interceptions, across 17 regular-season games. A second-round pick in the 2022 Draft, Cook made all 17 starts for the first time in his career and set career highs in tackles and interceptions. He played 90 percent of the Chiefs' defensive snaps and also started all three playoff games for Kansas City. He logged 13 tackles (11 solo) and one pass breakup, including an interception, during the postseason, picking off Jalen Hurts in the Super Bowl. Cook is set to head into the final year of his rookie contract in 2025.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Cleared to return vs. Houston

Cook (head) is back in Saturday's AFC divisional-round game against Houston after being evaluated for a possible concussion, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Cook was pulled from the game in the first quarter after making a tackle and was then evaluated for a possible concussion. However, he has since come back into the contest. Jaden Hicks had entered while Cook was out and will now return to a rotational role.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Dependable in road win

Cook recorded seven tackles (three solo) during Sunday's 30-27 win at Carolina. Cook played all 58 of the Chiefs' defensive snaps in Week 12, and he came away with his highest tackle total since Week 3. He'll be looking to build on Sunday's performance in Week 13 versus the Raiders.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Grabs first interception of season

Cook tallied two solo tackles and an interception during Monday's 26-13 win over the Saints. All of Cook's stats came on the Chiefs' first defensive series, which ended when he picked off a Derek Carr pass intended for Rashid Shaheed. It was Cook's first interception since Week 7 of the 2023 campaign. He's up to 26 tackles (21 solo) and four passes defended (one interception) through the first five games of the regular season.

Cook tallied eight tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 22-17 win over Atlanta. Cook tied with Nick Bolton for second-most tackles on Kansas City on Sunday behind Chamarri Conner (10). • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Past ankle issue

Cook (ankle) was spotted working with the Chiefs' first-team defense Monday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports. The 2022 second-round pick out of Cincinnati sustained a season-ending ankle injury during Kansas City's Week 13 loss to the Packers, but it now seems as if he's moved past the issue. Cook started all 12 games he appeared in last season, recording 42 total tackles and two passes defended, including one interception. The 24-year-old is expected to remain one of the Chiefs' top safeties heading into their 2024 campaign.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Unlikely to play Saturday

Coach Andy Reid said Tuesday that he does not expect Cook (ankle) to return from Kansas City's injured reserve list for the wild-card round, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. Cook appears to be on track to miss his sixth consecutive game due to an ankle sprain he sustained in Week 13 at Green Bay. In that case, Mike Edwards would project to make another start at safety.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Won't play Week 14

Cook (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. The second-year safety out of Cincinnati was held out of practice all week after suffering an ankle injury in Week 13, so it's no surprise that he'll be inactive Sunday. With Cook missing Week 14, expect veteran Mike Edwards to assume the Chiefs' starting free safety duties.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Not ready for return

Cook (ankle) will not practice Wednesday, Cook is still being evaluated after suffering what is believed to be a sprained ankle, according to head coach Andy Reid. It's still not clear how much time the second-year pro could miss with the injury and what his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Bills could be.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Avoids fracture

Cook's X-ray came back negative after he suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's loss to the Packers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Cook was unable to return to the game after suffering the injury and needing to be carted off the field. He'll undergo further testing and evaluation Monday to determine the severity of the damage done to his ankle, but it appears for now the second-year safety has avoided a significant injury.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Hurts ankle on SNF

Cook (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Packers. Cook was carted off after suffering what looked like a gruesome ankle injury at first glance. It's encouraging that the safety wasn't immediately ruled out, but it would be surprising if Cook managed to return Sunday. With Cook hurt, Mike Edwards will likely take on a larger role.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Scores touchdown in Frankfurt

Cook recorded four tackles (two solo) and a fumble return for a touchdown in Sunday's 21-14 win over Miami. With less than a minute to play in the first half, Cook became the beneficiary of a wild play in which Trent McDuffie stripped Tyreek Hill behind the line of scrimmage, Mike Edwards recovered the ball and lateraled it to Cook, who then raced nearly 60 yards into the end zone to make the score 21-0. Cook is getting steady playing time, but despite Sunday's production, he isn't racking up enough stats to warrant IDP consideration.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Returning in Week 7

Cook (concussion) enters Sunday's matchup against the 49ers without an injury designation. Cook was forced to miss the Chiefs' showdown with Buffalo in Week 6 while in concussion protocol. However, he's in line to make his return as a key special teamer and depth piece among the team's secondary against San Francisco. He has 10 total tackles and a pass defended across five games.

  • Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Won't play vs. Buffalo

Cook (concussion) won't play Week 6 versus the Bills, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. Cook, a rookie second-round pick, has handled a depth role in the Kansas City secondary this season, appearing in five games while logging 10 tackles across 87 snaps on defense. Juan Thornhill and Justin Reid should continue to play the vast majority of Kansas City's snaps at safety this week.
