Reid signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with Cleveland on Monday.
Reid didn't play at all last season after suffering a back injury in late August. However, the Weber State product worked his way up to a pretty big role as a rookie in 2024, with most of his work coming on special teams. If Reid is back to full health and able to make the roster ahead of the upcoming campaign, he'll likely reprise his role as a depth option and special-teamer.

Browns' Winston Reid: Won't be activated for Week 17
Reid (back) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Reid's practice window opened Dec. 17, but the linebacker has been unable to get back on the field since suffering a back injury in the Browns' preseason finale against the Rams. Now that he has been ruled out for Week 17, the 26-year-old's only shot to play regular-season football this year will be in a Week 18 matchup against the Bengals.

Reid opened the Browns' week of practice with consecutive DNPs, so it's no surprise he won't return for the Week 16 contest. While the 26-year-old remains sidelined, expect Devin Bush to operate as the Browns' top strongside linebacker.

The 26-year-old has missed all 14 of the Browns' games this season after being placed on IR with a back issue in late August. However, it now appears he's nearing a return. Once fully healthy, Reid is likely to play a reserve role in the Browns' linebacker corps.

Reid recorded eight tackles (four solo) and two passes defensed during Sunday's 34-13 loss at Washington.
After starter Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (undisclosed) left Sunday's contest early, Reid was thrust into the biggest role he's seen in his young career so far, and he filled in admirably. Browns' Winston Reid: Signed from practice squad
The Browns signed Reid to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com reports.
Reid earns a spot on Cleveland's 53-man roster, which has linebackers Tony Fields (ankle) and Mohamoud Diabate (hip) on IR until at least mid-October. Sunday's matchup against Jacksonville will be telling as to Reid's role, but if he does play, it's probable he contributes mostly on special teams while holding down a reserve role on defense.
