  • Patriots' Milton Williams: Big signing for New England

    Williams is slated to sign with the Patriots on a multi-year contract worth $26 million annually, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Williams played all 17 regular-season games with the Eagles in 2024, tallying 24 total tackles (11 solo), including a career-high 5.0 sacks. He also had one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Now heading into his age-26 season in fresh surroundings under new head coach Mike Vrabel, Williams will operate as an immediate starter for New England.

Williams remained a rather productive member of Philadelphia's impressive defensive line in 2024, recording a career-high 5.0 sacks during the regular season. Williams was unable to practice Wednesday after sustaining a foot injury in the Eagles' Week 11 win over the Commanders. However, he upgraded to full participation in Friday's practice, appearing to have now moved past the issue. The Louisiana Tech product has recorded 13 total tackles across Philadelphia's first 10 games this season, and he's expected to serve as one of the team's top defensive ends in Week 12.
