Fantasy News

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Remains on IR

Farmer (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Super Bowl LX on Sunday. Farmer was questionable to play after being a full participant in practice every day this week, but the team has decided not to activate the rookie from injured reserve. The defensive end's hamstring issue already cut into his opportunity for meaningful experience at the NFL level, and the lack of any postseason experience means the young player may not be ready to be thrown into the fire in the biggest game of the season. The Patriots will enter Sunday's showdown with the Seahawks with Christian Barmore, Milton Williams, Leonard Taylor and Cory Durden at defensive end.

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Staying on IR for Sunday

Farmer (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Broncos. Farmer will be ruled out of Sunday's game despite logging full participation in practice every day this week. The rookie defensive end may have a chance to return to the active roster for the Super Bowl if the Patriots can beat the Broncos this weekend. The main edge production in Sunday's contest will come from starters Christian Barmore and Milton Williams.

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Designated to return from IR

The Patriots designated Farmer (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Farmer was placed on injured reserve in late December due to a hamstring injury he suffered in the Patriots' Week 16 win over the Ravens. Before sustaining the injury, the defensive end accumulated 15 tackles (seven solo) and one pass defensed through 13 games. The return of the fourth-round rookie would provide rotational depth at defensive end behind starters Christian Barmore and Milton Williams. If Farmer can string consecutive practice sessions together, he may be activated in time for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Broncos.

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Placed on IR

The Patriots placed Farmer (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday. Farmer suffered the injury in Sunday night's win over the Ravens and will now miss the final two games of the regular season and at least the first two games of the playoffs. The fourth-round rookie defensive tackle has appeared in 13 games this season, making three starts, and has recorded 15 tackles (seven solo), one pass breakup and one fumble recovery.

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Downgraded to out

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Inactive Thursday

Farmer (ankle) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Jets. Farmer was limited in Monday's walkthrough and was unable to participate in practice Tuesday or Wednesday. The 22-year-old defensive end has between a 20 and 40 percent snap share in each game thus far. In his absence, Cory Durden should be in line for an increase in playing time.

  • Patriots' Joshua Farmer: Goes to New England in fourth round

The Patriots selected Farmer in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 137th overall. Farmer is a long-levered defensive tackle with 35-inch arms and good quickness off the ball. He can get to the passer from the defensive tackle spot, as exhibited by his 9.0 sacks over his final two years at Florida State. Look for Farmer to play a two-gap role for the Patriots.
