  • 49ers' Osa Odighizuwa: Shipped to San Francisco in trade

The 49ers acquired Odighizuwa (elbow) from the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Odighizuwa had offseason surgery on his elbow, termed a clean-up procedure, that is not expected to affect his availability for the offseason program. A third-round pick in the 2021 Draft, Odighizuwa signed a new four-year, $80 million deal with Dallas last offseason. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games, making 13 starts, and has missed just one contest throughout his five-year career. During the 2025 campaign, Odighizuwa posted 44 tackles (16 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and he gives the Niners a needed boost to their defensive line.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Plays in every game again in 2025

Odighizuwa tallied 44 tackles, including 3.5 sacks, over 17 contests during the 2025 regular season. Odighizuwa continues to be a durable force for Dallas -- he's played in all 17 regular-season contests every year since 2022. The veteran defensive tackle has also been very consistent stats-wise, producing between 43 and 47 stops, including between 3.0 and 4.5 sacks, every season during that four-year span. Odighizuwa signed a four-year contract last March and should continue to be a key part of Dallas' defensive line next season.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Assists on four tackles in win

Odighizuwa recorded four tackles in Thursday's 31-28 win over the Chiefs. The defensive tackle also played on 59 percent of the defensive snaps. Odighizuwa has played on more than half of the defensive snaps in every game this season, recording 34 total tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Dealing with elbow injury

Odighizuwa (elbow) did not participate in Monday's walkthrough practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Odighizuwa likely suffered the injury during Dallas' 24-21 overtime win over Philadelphia on Sunday, when he recorded four tackles, including 1.0 sacks and four total quarterback hits. He'll have two more chances to return to practice ahead of Thursday's game against the Chiefs, but if he's unable to play, then Kenny Clark and Solomon Thomas would be slated for more snaps at defensive tackle alongside Quinnen Williams.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Sack in second straight game

Odighizuwa recorded four tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and four QB hits in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Eagles. The addition of Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline has injected some life into the entire Dallas defense, and Odighizuwa has been one of the biggest beneficiaries. The fifth-year defensive tackle has a sack in each of Williams' first two games as a Cowboy after managing just one through the first nine games this season. Williams, Odighizuwa and Kenny Clark have seen roughly equal workloads during those two weeks, sometimes even being on the field together as part of a five-man front, and that consistent pressure up the middle is paying dividends -- the trio has combined for 4.0 sacks in those two contests, both Dallas wins.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Agrees to four-year extension

The Cowboys and Odighizuwa agreed to terms Tuesday on a four-year, $80 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Dallas was expected to place the franchise tag on Odighizuwa, but the two sides managed to reach agreeable terms on a long-term deal before that proved necessary. The 27-year-old put together the best season of his career in 2024, with 47 tackles and 4.5 sacks across 17 regular-season appearances. His new deal reportedly includes $58 million guaranteed. For fantasy purposes, Odighizuwa looks slated to repeat as a high-end option in IDP formats that require starters at the defensive tackle position.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Competition for snaps growing

Odighizuwa faces increased competition for snaps at defensive tackle in 2024. The 2021 third-round pick has emerged as a reliable 3-technique at defensive tackle for the Cowboys, and Odighizuwa recorded a career-high 46 tackles over 17 regular-season games last season with 3.0 sacks. Last year's first-round pick Mazi Smith is expected to take a step forward in his development though, and Dallas added veteran Jordan Phillips to the DT mix during training camp, with free agent Linval Joseph also expected to sign in the coming days. That gives new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer plenty of options in the middle of the defensive line, but it also makes it unlikely that Odighizuwa will see the career-high 601 snaps he got in 2023.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Full go Friday

Odighizuwa (hamstring) was a full participant in Friday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. The 25-year-old logged limited practices both Wednesday and Thursday, but he was able to record a full session Friday and now has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's contest. Odighizuwa has appeared in eight games for Dallas this season, recording 27 total tackles, including five tackles for loss and three sacks.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Nursing hamstring injury

Odighizuwa (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. It's not clear at this point when Odighizuwa picked up the hamstring issue nor how severe it might be. Either way, if he can't practice in full Friday, he'll be in danger of missing his first game this season.

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Available on Thanksgiving

Odighizuwa (knee) is active for Thursday's game against the Giants, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Odighizuwa was listed as a limited participant on the Cowboys' practice reports all week, but he's been cleared to play through his knee injury in Week 12. Over two games since the Week 9 bye, he's racked up three tackles (two solo).

  • Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa: Limited in practice Monday

Odighizuwa (knee) was listed as a limited participant on the Cowboys' injury report Monday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Odighizuwa recorded one tackle while logging a season-low 18 defensive snaps during Sunday's 40-3 win over the Vikings. However, he appears to have come away from this game with a knee injury, though the exact nature and severity of this issue are still unknown. Odighizuwa has recorded 39 tackles and two sacks over 10 games this season, and he'll have two more practices to increase his activity before Dallas' matchup against the Giants on Thanksgiving Day. Otherwise, Carlos Watkins and Neville Gallimore could stand to see increased roles, as Johnathan Hankins (illness) did not participate in Monday's practice.
