The Steelers have ruled Skowronek (calf) out for Sunday's matchup against the Saints, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.
Skowronek did not participate in Wednesday's practice. He will now miss his second straight week due to a calf injury suffered in the Steelers' Week 5 win against the Colts. Kaden Wetjen may see some extra reps in his place.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Skowronek (calf) will not play against the Buccaneers this Sunday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
Skowronek was diagnosed with a leg injury during the Steelers' 34-22 win over the Colts, which he picked up after a punt return in the first half. He was unable to return to the contest, and his calf issue will cost him at least one game, with his next chance to play being Week 7 against the Saints in Paris on Sunday, Oct. 25. Roman Wilson (finger) has also been ruled out for Week 6, so rookie second-rounder Germie Bernard, Kaden Wetjen and Brandon Smith are all in line for additional snaps on offense against Tampa Bay.

The 29-year-old progressed through the entirety of the league's five-step protocol and was cleared by an independent neurologist before Wednesday's first official practice.

Skowronek has entered the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. The wide receiver will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist to ultimately be cleared for game action. Steelers' Ben Skowronek: Quiet during 2025 regular season
Skowronek secured four of six targets for 69 yards and a touchdown while appearing in all 17 regular-season games in 2025.
Skowronek had a 22-yard touchdown reception in the Steelers' Week 1 win over the Jets, but his production went downhill from there. He failed to garner multiple targets in any of his regular-season appearances, and he was forced to play mainly on special teams during his fifth professional campaign. The 2021 seventh-rounder will be an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him seek out other opportunities after being held under 70 receiving yards in each of his two seasons in Pittsburgh.
