Holmes (concussion) was seen participating in Thursday's practice session, Nick Wass of the Herald Journal News reports.
Holmes missed the last game of the 2023 regular season due to a concussion. He played most of his snaps on special teams across 13 regular-season games last year and recorded eight tackles (three solo) and one pass defended. The 2022 seventh-round pick is competing for a depth role at corner behind presumptive starters Emmanuel Forbes and Benjamin St-Juste.

Holmes had already been ruled out for Washington's season finale due to a concussion, but he's since been moved over to IR. The second-year cornerback out of Oklahoma State was a standout special-teamer for the Commanders this season, recording eight total tackles and playing 317 snaps in 13 games.

Holmes (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Holmes recorded back-to-back DNPs to begin the Commanders' week of practice after missing the team's Week 17 affair with this concussion, so it's no surprise that he'll be inactive again Sunday. Kyu Blu Kelly could see increased work in Washington's secondary with Holmes missing Week 18.

Holmes recorded three tackles (one solo) and a pass defensed before exiting Sunday's contest. With Kendall Fuller (knee), Benjamin St-Juste (concussion) and Tariq Castro-Fields (shoulder) all also out, rookie first-rounder Emmanuel Forbes is probably on deck for increased snaps at corner.
