  • Zayne Anderson: Won't be offered contract tender

The Packers don't plan to offer a contract tender to Anderson (ankle), Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Anderson, who had been a pending restricted free agent, is thus slated have an opportunity to catch on elsewhere this offseason. The Packers placed Anderson (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday. Anderson hurt his ankle in Saturday's loss to Baltimore, and the injury is severe enough to result in placement on IR. • Packers' Zayne Anderson: Ruled out for rest of Week 17

Anderson (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday night's game against the Ravens. Anderson's ankle injury seems to be too much to play on, and the defensive back's injury status has been quickly confirmed. Another depth defensive back will have to take over Anderson's role on special teams, such as Kamal Hadden or Kitan Oladapo.

Anderson (knee) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Commanders, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Anderson was listed as a limited practice participant this past week due to a lingering knee injury, but he hasn't progressed enough in his recovery to play Thursday. Anderson signed his exclusive rights free-agent tender with the Packers on Monday, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports. Anderson is set to return to Green Bay where he racked up 16 tackles (13 solo) and an interception in 16 games during the 2024 campaign. Anderson has been diagnosed with a concussion and has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against Minnesota. Anderson got shaken up during a kickoff return in the first quarter, and further tests determined that he had suffered a concussion during the play. He'll enter the league's five-step concussion protocol, which he'll need to clear in order to play against Chicago in Week 18. With Javon Bullard starting at strong safety for Evan Williams (quadriceps), Kitan Oladapo will serve as the Packers' backup safety for the rest of Sunday's game due to Anderson's injury.
