Steelers' Tyler Matakevich: Will play vs. Washington
Matakevich (hamstring) is not on the Steelers' inactive list for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Matakevich was activated off IR on Saturday, and the 2016 seventh-round pick will suit up Sunday. He played on special teams in the first two games of the regular season and logged two solo tackles while playing solely on special teams.

The Steelers activated Matakevich (hamstring) from injured reserve Saturday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Matakevich was placed on IR due to a hamstring issue in mid-September and was designated to return Oct. 24. With his 21-day practice window nearing its end, the Steelers decided to activate the linebacker ahead of Sunday's matchup against Washington. Matakevich played exclusively on special teams during his two contests this season and will likely continue to serve in that role if he suits up Sunday.

The Steelers announced Saturday that Matakevich (hamstring) is ruled out for Monday's game against the Giants, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Matakevich has had his 21-day practice window opened, but he won't be activated from IR in time to take the field Week 8. With Pittsburgh set to benefit from a bye after taking on New York, Matakevich's next chance to play will come Week 10 against the Commanders.

The Steelers announced Thursday that Matakevich (hamstring) has been designated for return from injured reserve, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Matakevich was placed on IR due to a hamstring injury mid-September, and he's now missed a total of five games due to the issue. The veteran linebacker will resume practicing Thursday and is eligible to be activated at any point in the next three weeks, so he could return as early as Monday's game against the Giants. He contributed exclusively on special teams in his two appearances this season.

Matakevich sustained the hamstring injury during the second half of Pittsburgh's 13-6 win over the Broncos. He finished the game with one solo tackle while playing 19 snaps on special teams. Matakevich (undisclosed) was activated from the active/PUP list Tuesday, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
Matakevich has been sidelined since camp opened, but now he'll get a chance to compete for a roster spot as Week 1 draws closer. The 30-year-old has been a special-teams ace for the Bills in each of the last three seasons, seeing limited spot duty on defense. He'll work to earn a similar role again this season after re-signing with Buffalo in March.

Bills' Tyler Matakevich: New deal with Buffalo
Matakevich and the Bills agreed to a two-year contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Matakevich will stay in Buffalo, returning to the team for a fourth straight year in 2023. The linebacker is a leader on the Bills' special teams units, playing only two defensive snaps last season in comparison to 322 on special teams. Matakevich recorded a career-low six tackles in 2022, something he'll look to improve next year.
