Mets' Carson Benge: Productive again Wednesday
Benge went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Rockies.
The rookie outfielder pushed his batting average on the season above .200 for the first time since March 30 as he continues to look more comfortable in the majors. Benge has extra-base hits in three straight games and four multi-hit performances in the last 12 contests, a stretch in which he's slashing .316/.366/.553 with three doubles, two homers, seven RBI and eight runs.

Mets' Carson Benge: Blasts third homer in win
Benge went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 4-2 victory over Colorado.
After five scoreless innings, Benge opened the scoring in the sixth frame with a 436-foot solo blast off Tomoyuki Sugano, his third long ball of the campaign. The rookie is regarded as one of the top outfield prospects in baseball, though that hasn't prevented some growing pains at the big-league level, as the 23-year-old owns a .579 OPS through 32 games. He has been more productive of late, however, as Benge is slashing .238/.333/.429 with two extra-base hits, four RBI and four runs across his past seven games.

Mets' Carson Benge: On base three times Sunday
Benge went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Angels.
The 23-year-old rookie also delivered a clutch web gem in the ninth inning, stretching out to make a spectacular diving catch on a Vaughn Grissom poke that threatened to head into the right-field corner for an RBI double. Benge has begun to get comfortable in the majors, slashing .290/.333/.452 over the last 10 games with two doubles, a homer, four RBI and five runs.

Benge went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Nationals.
Benge drove home a pair with a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend the Mets' lead to 5-0. The rookie outfielder now has back-to-back multi-hit games and has logged at least two knocks in three of his last five contests. He's 7-for-12 during that span with a double, a homer, three RBI and one strikeout. Benge has upped his slash line to .195/.258/.293 with with two home runs, six RBI, nine runs scored, six stolen bases and a 7:19 BB:K across 89 plate appearances.

Mets' Carson Benge: Swats second homer
Benge went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Twins.
The rookie outfielder took Joe Ryan deep in the fourth inning, giving Benge his second homer of the year. It was the first time in his brief career that the 23-year-old had recorded multiple extra-base hits in a game, and it was his first multi-hit performance in April. Benge may be getting comfortable in the majors -- while he's still batting just .200 (4-for-20) over the last seven games, three of his four hits in that span have gone for extra bases, and his 20.0 percent strikeout rate is a significant improvement on the 28.9 percent mark he posted in his first 12 contests of the season.

Benge is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
After starting each of the Mets' last six games and going 3-for-20 with a double, a walk, one stolen base and two runs over that stretch, the left-handed-hitting Benge will take a seat while southpaw Connor Prielipp takes the hill for the Twins. The steal was Benge's fourth of the season in nine games, but the rookie outfielder is struggling to make an impact with his bat, going 3-for-30 (.100) with a 4:11 BB:K. A groundball rate of 57.9 percent and a 3.3 degree launch angle are also contributing to his struggles. The Mets aren't going to pull the plug on the top prospect any time soon, but Benge is looking a little overmatched at the plate to begin his big-league career.
