Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Back from injured list
The Mariners reinstated Raleigh (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
After missing over a month of action as a result of being placed on the IL on May 14, Raleigh is back with the big-league club. The catcher completed a five-game rehab assignment between High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma before being cleared to return to Seattle. In order to make room on the roster for Raleigh, the Mariners optioned Jhonny Pereda to Tacoma.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Plates two in return
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Orioles.
Raleigh returned from a month-long absence due to an oblique strain. He caught all nine innings and delivered the Mariners' winning play at the plate with a two-run single in the seventh. Prior to his stint on the injured list, he went just 2-for-44 (.045) over a 12-game stretch. He should see a majority of the time behind the dish moving forward, though Raleigh may serve as designated hitter occasionally to keep his bat in the lineup without taking too much of a toll on his body. He's batting just .165 with a .566 OPS, seven home runs, 20 RBI, 16 runs scored, four doubles and two stolen bases over 42 contests this season.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Activation from IL imminent
Raleigh (oblique) is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Seattle is poised to get some major reinforcement to the lineup ahead of its six-game week, as infielder J.P. Crawford (hand) is also on track to return from the IL on Tuesday. Coming off last season's runner-up finish in the AL MVP race, Raleigh has been a major disappointment so far in 2026 with a lowly .560 OPS in 41 games before he landed on the IL on May 14 due to a right oblique strain. On an encouraging note, Raleigh looked to be dialed in at the dish during his five-game rehab assignment between High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma, reaching base in every contest while going a collective 7-for-17 with five home runs and a 2:3 BB:K. He should step back in immediately as Seattle's No. 1 catcher after the Mariners had been leaning on timeshare of Jhonny Pereda and Mitch Garver behind the plate over the past month.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Starting rehab assignment Sunday
Raleigh (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Everett on Sunday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Raleigh will move up to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday and will continue his rehab assignment there for the rest of next week before the Mariners evaluate him for a return to the active roster. That sets Raleigh up to return to the Seattle lineup June 16 for the beginning of a homestand, assuming all goes well. He's been out since mid-May due to a right oblique strain.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Closing in on rehab games
Raleigh (oblique) could be ready for a rehab assignment during the Mariners' June 5-14 road trip, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Raleigh has been ramping up all of his baseball activities in recent days as he works his way back from a right oblique strain. He will remain in Seattle for the time being to continue workouts as the team departs for its road trip, but it sounds like Raleigh could be ready for rehab games next week. Raleigh has missed the past three weeks of action but should be ready to return to the Mariners' active roster by mid-June, barring setbacks.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Swinging in cages
Raleigh (oblique) began taking swings in a batting cage Friday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports
Raleigh has been ramping up his activity at the Mariners' complex in Arizona over the past few days, and his return to swinging a bat marks an encouraging step forward as he works his way back from a right oblique strain. He's set to return to Seattle on Saturday to check in with the team, though he likely still has a couple more weeks of rehab ahead of him before he's cleared to come off the IL.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Starting light baseball activities
Raleigh (oblique) is slated for light catch play Monday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
It marks Raleigh's first baseball activity since being placed on the 10-day injured list in mid-May due to a right oblique strain. He'll continue his rehab program in Arizona, and the Mariners should have a better sense of Raleigh's recovery timeline once he progresses to other activities such as swinging a bat.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Shut down one week
The Mariners will shut Raleigh (oblique) down for a week before re-evaluating him, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
The results of Raleigh's MRI were reportedly better than the one he received earlier in the month, but after placing him on the injured list Thursday, the Mariners will give the slugging catcher a week to focus on rest and recovery. His period of no activity will almost certainly require him to spend more than the 10-day minimum on the shelf. In the meantime, Mitch Garver and Jhonny Pereda will share backstop duties for the M's.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Removed with injury
Raleigh was removed from Wednesday's game against the Astros with an apparent right side injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Raleigh was spotted wincing in pain and grabbing at his right side during the eighth inning, and he was replaced on defense when Seattle took the field in the ninth. The slugging backstop missed three games earlier this month due to soreness on the same side, and although the severity of his latest flare-up is unknown, the Mariners may now have to send him to the injured list. Mitch Garver should take over as Seattle's primary backstop if Raleigh has to miss time.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Placed on IL for first time
The Mariners placed Raleigh on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right oblique strain, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Raleigh tweaked his oblique Wednesday in Houston and has landed on the IL for the first time in his career. Oblique strains typically result in longer than minimum absences, but more will be known about Raleigh's timetable once the Mariners return to Seattle and he's examined further. Mitch Garver and Jhonny Pereda will share catching duties for Seattle while Raleigh is out.
