Miller earned the save Sunday against the Marlins, striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
Miller was unsurprisingly called upon to protect a two-run lead and retired Miami in order on 15 pitches (eight strikes). The right-hander has now tossed eight consecutive scoreless appearances while racking up 14 strikeouts during that stretch. Miller continues to dominate in the closer's role, posting a 0.82 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 80:27 K:BB across 43.2 innings while leading the National League with 27 saves.

Miller continued his unbelievable 2026 campaign, inducing groundouts from Joe Mack and Otto Lopez before striking out Kyle Stowers to end the game. Miller looked like his usual dominant self, inducing a weak groundout from Ernie Clement and a routine popout from Myles Straw before striking out Vladimir Guerrero on three pitches to secure the save. The flamethrower owns a dazzling 0.91 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 72:13 K:BB across 39.2 innings this season. Padres' Mason Miller: Reinstated from bereavement list
The Padres reinstated Miller from the Bereavement/Family Medical Leave List Friday.
Miller will make his return to San Diego after being out since Monday. The Padres optioned Bradgley Rodriguez to the Arizona Complex League in order to make room for Miller on the active roster. Miller has been lights-out this campaign with a 0.90 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 59:12 K:BB through 30 innings of work.

Padres' Mason Miller: Goes on bereavement leave
The Padres placed Miller on the bereavement/family medical leave list Monday.
According to MLB rules, Miller must remain on the bereavement list for at least the next three days and no more than seven. Jason Adam has served as the Friars' top setup man and could represent the top choice for any save chances that arise while Miller is away from the team. Miller is well on his way to earning the second All-Star nod of his career this season, as he's converted all 19 of his save opportunities while submitting a 0.90 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 59:12 K:BB over 30 innings.
