Athletics' Jonah Heim: Tallies two hits Sunday
Heim went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's win over the Padres.
With Shea Langeliers shifting to designated hitter, Heim drew the start behind the dish and contributed offensively by reaching base three times. Since being traded to the Athletics on May 4, the 30-year-old has gone 4-for-24 (.167) with two doubles, two runs and a walk across eight appearances. Overall, Heim is slashing .206/.271/.349 with a homer, six doubles, eight RBI and six runs across 20 games between Atlanta and the Athletics in 2026.

Athletics' Jonah Heim: Dealt to Athletics
The Athletics acquired Heim from Atlanta on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Heim was designated for assignment by Atlanta earlier in the day Monday, but instead of sending the veteran backstop to the waiver wire, the club was able to work out a deal with the Athletics. The 30-year-old backstop slashed .231/.311/.410 with one home run, eight RBI and four runs scored in 12 games for Atlanta before being booted from the 40-man roster.

Braves' Jonah Heim: DFA'd by Atlanta
Atlanta designed Heim for assignment Monday.
Heim served as Atlanta's No. 2 catcher behind Drake Baldwin after Sean Murphy (hip) opened the season on the 10-day injured list. With Murphy back from the IL, Heim's services are no longer needed on Atlanta's major-league roster, and it's unclear whether he will stay with the organization if he clears waivers. Heim is slashing .231/.311/.410 with one home run and eight RBI across 45 plate appearances this season.

Braves' Jonah Heim: Tallies five RBI in win
Heim went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double, three additional RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 11-6 win over Colorado.
With Drake Baldwin at designated hitter, Heim drew the start at catcher and made the most of it, matching a career high with five RBI. He opened the scoring for Atlanta with a two-run blast in the second inning before adding another extra-base hit with a two-RBI double in the ninth to extend the lead. The 30-year-old's playing time has been limited with Baldwin's success behind the plate, as Heim has logged 45 plate appearances in 2026, slashing .231/.311/.410 with a homer, four doubles, eight RBI and four runs.

Braves' Jonah Heim: On base twice in Wednesday's start
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
The 30-year-old got the start at catcher and hit ninth for Atlanta, and Heim did an effective job of flipping the lineup over in an 8-6 victory. Heim quietly has a six-game hitting streak dating back to April 7, batting .304 (7-for-23) over that stretch with three doubles, two RBI and a run. Heim isn't guaranteed to lose his spot on the 26-man roster when Sean Murphy (hip) gets healthy, given Atlanta's tendency to keep Drake Baldwin's bat in the lineup at DH when he isn't catching.

Braves' Jonah Heim: Will begin season as backup catcher
Heim has secured a spot on Atlanta's Opening Day roster, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
It will likely be a temporary assignment while Sean Murphy (hip) is on the IL, but Heim will back up Drake Baldwin to begin the season. Heim hasn't been able to match his career-best 2023 campaign with the Rangers, and over the last two seasons the 30-year-old switch hitter managed just a .217/.269/.334 slash line.

Braves' Jonah Heim: Signs one-year deal with Atlanta
Atlanta signed Heim to a one-year contract Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Heim was non-tendered by the Rangers earlier in the offseason after slashing only .213/.271/.332 across 433 plate appearances in 2025, and his defensive metrics have also declined the last two years. Heim does have a good shot to break camp as the backup catcher behind Drake Baldwin while Sean Murphy (hip) recovers.

Jonah Heim: Let go by Rangers
Heim was non-tendered by the Rangers on Friday.
Heim's tenure with the Rangers has seemingly come to an end after spending the last five seasons with the organization. He spent most of the 2025 regular season as the starting catcher, though he did split time behind home plate with Kyle Higashioka at times. Heim ended the season with a .213/.271/.332 slash line with three steals, 38 runs scored, 11 home runs and 43 RBI over 433 plate appearances. The 30-year-old pro will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at catcher by the start of spring training.

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Sitting down Saturday
Heim isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.
Heim will grab a seat on the bench Saturday after collecting a base hit in each of his last two games. Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate instead and bat fifth.

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Re-emerging as top catcher
Heim will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game versus the Astros.
Heim has now started eight of the last 11 contests (10 at catcher, one at designated hitter), including five of the last eight versus right-handers. The switch hitter is slashing .333/.455/.556 over his last eight games and looks to have inched past Kyle Higashioka on the Rangers' catcher depth chart.

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Resting up Wednesday
Heim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Heim will rest after he had been included in the lineup in each of the last four games, making three starts at catcher and one as a designated hitter during that stretch. Though the Rangers will likely continue to make regular room for both Heim and Kyle Higashioka in the lineup when the team faces left-handed starters, Higashioka will likely rank as the preferred option behind the plate against right-handed pitching.

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Goes yard in win
Heim went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a second RBI and a walk in Friday's 5-2 win over the Athletics.
Heim opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and added his solo shot in the fifth to put the Rangers ahead for good. The homer was his first since July 25. Heim has been a little steadier at the plate lately, going 10-for-28 (.357) with five RBI over his last nine games. Kyle Higashioka has done enough to maintain the starting role behind the dish, and Heim's other path to playing time at designated hitter is only open as a short-side platoon spot, as Joc Pederson has also swung a hot bat lately. For the season, Heim is batting .222 with a .620 OPS, 10 homers, 40 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles and three stolen bases over 372 plate appearances.
