  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Set to miss Tuesday's game

Malkin (lower body) will not play in Tuesday's home clash against the Golden Knights, per Penguins' studio host Dan Potash.

After recently missing a contest due to an illness, Malkin will log his second absence of the 2026-27 campaign with a lower-body injury. When healthy, the 40-year-old star has been excellent, posting six goals, 11 points and 27 shots on net across 13 outings this season. In his absence, Justin Brazeau is expected to make his season debut after recovering from a lower-body injury. Malkin's next chance to return to the lineup is Thursday's home clash against the Bruins.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Facing reigning champs

Saros will defend the home net in Tuesday's clash against the Hurricanes, per Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean.

Saros will look to snap his three-game losing streak Tuesday after being handed his first regulation loss since Oct. 13 in Thursday's loss to the Capitals. Overall, the 31-year-old netminder has a 3-3-4 record, a 2.94 GAA and a .902 save percentage across 10 appearances this season. Despite not being able to find the win column since Oct. 17, Saros remains a fringe No. 2 goalie option in fantasy given his decent stat splits and command over the opportunities in net for Nashville. He'll face a tough test Tuesday, however, against the Hurricanes, making him a risky fantasy option.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Facing Flyers

Wallstedt will guard the road goal in Tuesday's clash against the Flyers, per Wild radio broadcaster Joe O'Donnell.

Wallstedt will look to extend his unbeaten-in-regulation streak to five games in Tuesday's road matchup after posting a convincing win over the Capitals on Sunday. Overall, the 23-year-old rising star has a 9-2-3 record, a 2.06 GAA and a .920 save percentage across 14 appearances this season. He currently leads the league in appearances and ranks near the top of multiple major stat categories, making Wallstedt an elite fantasy option for the foreseeable future. He'll draw a favorable matchup against the Flyers on Tuesday, who currently rank last in the NHL with 2.19 goals per game this season.

  • Cam Talbot G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Cam Talbot: Patrolling home net

Talbot will draw the home start in Tuesday's clash against the Avalanche, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

Talbot will get his first game reps since Oct. 27 in Tuesday's clash after Jet Greaves drew the start in each of the Blue Jackets' last two outings. Overall, the 39-year-old Talbot has a 3-2-0 record, a 2.83 GAA and an .894 save percentage across six appearances this season. With Greaves struggling to find the win column, Talbot remains fantasy relevant in deep leagues as one of the NHL's most-effective backups. For Tuesday's outing, however, he's best left out of fantasy lineups given his matchup against the league's top offense.

  • Aaron Ekblad D | FLA

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Pots first goal of season

Ekblad scored a shorthanded goal in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Red Wings.

His tally late in the second quarter tied the game at 2-2, as he banked the puck off Daniil Tarasov's skate from behind the Detroit net. It was Ekblad's first goal of the season, and the 30-year-old blueliner's days of being a real offensive threat appear to be over. He hasn't scored double-digit goals since 2022-23, and through 13 games in 2026-27 he's managed just five points, while adding 19 shots on net, 17 hits, 14 blocks shots, 10 PIM and a minus-6 rating.

  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Stuck with loss in return to net

Markstrom stopped 24 of 28 shots in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Red Wings, with Detroit's final goal getting scored into an open net.

Making his return from a five-game absence due to an upper-body injury, Markstrom got beaten by a wrister from the faceoff circle by Carter Mazur early in the first period, setting the tone for a night on which the Panthers never held a lead. Markstrom is 3-2-1 through seven outings with a 2.50 GAA and .890 save percentage, and he might need to work in a timeshare with Akira Schmid (5-2-1, 2.86 GAA, 889 save percentage in eight appearances) in the short term until he shows he's fully recovered.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Dueling Golden Knights

Silovs will defend the home crease in Tuesday's clash against the Golden Knights, per Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.

Silovs faced a season-high 35 shots on net in Thursday's narrow overtime loss to the Mammoth. He's unbeaten in regulation over his last three contests, which has raised his stats up to a 5-3-1 record, a 2.98 GAA, two shutouts and an .889 save percentage across nine appearances this season. He remains the clear No. 1 option between the pipes ahead of the struggling Sergei Murashov. Silovs will face off against the Golden Knights on Tuesday, who have posted 3.38 goals per game this season. Given the difficult matchup, Silovs is a boom-or-bust fantasy option for Tuesday's slate.

  • Devils' Connor Hellebuyck: Set for first home start with NJ

Hellebuyck will patrol the home crease in Tuesday's clash against the Oilers, per Mike Morreale of NHL.com.

Hellebuyck will get his first home start with New Jersey on Tuesday after picking up two road wins to begin his tenure with his new squad. Overall, the 33-year-old star has a 2-0-0 record, a 1.50 GAA and a .923 save percentage across 39 shots on net over two appearances this season. He'll look to carry his momentum into Tuesday's clash, which is slated to be a difficult outing against the Oilers, who rank second in the NHL with 4.20 goals per game this season. Hellebuyck remains a must-start Tuesday despite the tough matchup.

  • Carter Mazur LW | DET

Red Wings' Carter Mazur: Lights lamp for first time in NHL

Mazur scored his first career NHL goal in Monday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.

The 24-year-old got to a dump-in from Moritz Seider that made it all the way around the boards and snapped a shot past Jacob Markstrom early in the first period. Mazur was held without a point in nine games during cups of coffee over the prior two seasons, but he's spotted on and off the fourth line to begin 2026-27 and has three points in nine contests as he looks to establish himself in a full-time role.

  • Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Dishes two assists against Florida

Seider recorded two assists in Monday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.

The star blueliner had a had in Detroit's first and last tallies of the night, setting up Carter Mazur for his first career NHL goal in the first period and then blocking a shot that caromed to Emmitt Finnie for an empty-netter late in the third. Seider has gotten onto the scoresheet in four straight games, while he's still looking for his first goal of 2026-27, he's piled up 10 assists in 15 games so far while adding 40 blocked shots, 29 shots on net, 24 hits and a minus-1 rating.
