Wild's Brock Faber: Scores twice in playoff loss
Faber scored two goals on six shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Stars in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series.
Faber accounted for all the offense the Wild were able to muster in this game, and the two goals he scored were also his first two career postseason goals. Faber isn't expected to be a go-to scoring threat for Minnesota in the playoffs, although it's worth noting he scored a career-high 15 goals in 80 regular-season games. He should continue to play a prominent role in the Wild's top defensive pairing going forward.

Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Gives up three goals
Wallstedt stopped 28 of 31 shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Stars in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series. The fourth goal he allowed was an empty-netter.
Wallstedt was impressive in the series opener, where he stopped all but one of the 28 shots he faced while posting a .964 save percentage, but he couldn't repeat that outing in Game 2. The 23-year-old should continue to protect the Wild crease in Game 3, which will take place in Minnesota on Wednesday. Through two playoff outings, Wallstedt has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .932 save percentage.

Wild's Yakov Trenin: Hurt in Game 2 in Dallas
Trenin (upper body) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's Game 2 in Dallas.
Trenin was injured after getting hit by Colin Blackwell in the first period. The 29-year-old Trenin registered three hits in 3:02 of ice time before departing the game. The Wild have several depth options to replace the Russian forward in the lineup if he is unable to play in Game 3 in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Wild's Mats Zuccarello: Contending with upper-body injury
Zuccarello is unavailable for Game 2 in Dallas on Monday due to an upper-body injury.
Zuccarello is a big loss for the Wild's top six, as the Norwegian winger generated three helpers, including two on the power play, in Saturday's 6-1 win in Game 1. Vladimir Tarasenko will slot in on the top line alongside Kirill Kaprizov and Ryan Hartman, while Bobby Brink will suit up in Game 2 as a result of Zuccarello's absence. Zuccarello can be considered day-to-day ahead of Game 3 in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Wild's Ben Jones: Among Black Aces
Jones was summoned from AHL Iowa on Monday.
Jones had one goal, three points, 26 shots on net and 58 hits in 28 NHL appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. Minnesota also called up Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Hunter Haight, Carson Lambos, David Spacek, Riley Mercer and Chase Wutzke. They will serve as Black Aces during the NHL playoffs.

Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Drawing Game 2 start
Wallstedt will start Monday's Game 2 on the road against Dallas, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports.
Wallstedt was sharp during Saturday's Game 1 victory, making 27 saves in a 6-1 victory. He'll have another opportunity to patrol the crease Monday as the Wild attempt to secure a 2-0 lead in the series. Wallstedt has picked up wins in five of his last six starts dating back to late March, going 5-1-0 with a 1.68 GAA and .940 save percentage during that time.

Wild's Ryan Hartman: Two points in playoff opener
Hartman scored a goal, added an assist, logged two hits, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 1.
Hartman was among the many key players for the Wild who produced multi-point efforts in this playoff opener. He was rested for the last two games of the regular season, but he should be good for top-six minutes for most of the postseason. Entering this playoff run, Hartman had earned 21 points over 41 postseason contests across seven previous playoff runs, including six goals and 12 assists over 28 career postseason games with the Wild.

Wild's Mats Zuccarello: Three helpers in Game 1 win
Zuccarello collected three assists, two on the power play, during the Wild's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Saturday.
The veteran winger had a hand in both of Joel Eriksson Ek's power-play tallies in the first and third periods, as well as an even-strength marker by Matt Boldy in the second. Zuccarello hasn't found the back of the net himself through six games in April, but he's racked up an incredible 12 helpers.

Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Three points with GWG in Game 1
Kaprizov scored the game-winning goal at even strength and added two assists, one on the power play, during the Wild's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Saturday.
The Minnesota superstar gave his team a 2-0 lead just 56 seconds into the second period, finding the top corner over Jake Oettinger's shoulder from below the faceoff dot, before he helped set up tallies by Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek. Kaprizov has clicked into gear in April, and over seven games this month, he's produced four multi-point performances while amassing seven goals and 11 points.

Wild's Matt Boldy: Lights lamp twice in Game 1 rout
Boldy scored two even-strength goals and added a power-play assist during the Wild's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Saturday.
The 25-year-old winger had a hand in a first-period tally by Joel Eriksson Ek that opened the scoring, before finding the back of the net himself in the second and third frames. Boldy has been locked in since April began, with five multi-point performances in seven games this month. He has six goals and 12 points in this stretch, which began during the stretch run of the regular season.

Wild's Joel Eriksson Ek: Three-point effort in Game 1
Eriksson Ek scored two power-play goals and added an even-strength assist during the Wild's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Saturday.
The 29-year-old center opened the scoring for Minnesota early in the first period to get the rout started. Eriksson Ek had heated up to close out the regular season, producing a goal and six points in five April contests, and he's carried that momentum into the playoffs. He'll look to keep rolling in Game 2 on Monday.

Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Sharp in playoff debut
Wallstedt made 27 saves during the Wild's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Saturday.
A Jason Robertson power-play tally late in the second period spoiled Wallstedt's shutout bid, but the rookie netminder otherwise had an answer for everything Dallas fired his way. Wallstedt hasn't allowed more than two goals in seven straight starts dating back to March 19, and with Filip Gustavsson having struggled down the stretch during the regular season, Wallstedt is getting the chance to lock down the top job in the Wild crease for the team's postseason run.

Wild's Quinn Hughes: Cleared for return in Game 1
Hughes (illness) will play in Game 1 against the Stars, per Mark Lazerus of The Athletic.
Hughes is set to return to Minnesota's lineup after missing each of the team's final two regular-season games with an illness. The 26-year-old blueliner posted another elite season with 69 assists, 76 points, 187 shots on net and 87 blocked shots across 74 regular-season games between Vancouver and Minnesota this year. He'll likely jump back into the Wild's top defensive pairing alongside Brock Faber for the opening clash of the team's series against Dallas.

Wild's Zach Bogosian: Slated to play in Game 1
Bogosian (lower body) is expected to return to the lineup against Dallas on Saturday in Game 1, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Bogosian sat out the final six games of the regular season due to an injury. However, he should return to the lineup in Minnesota's playoff opener. During the 2025-26 regular season, he provided two goals, six points, 30 shots on net, 37 blocked shots and 47 hits in 41 appearances.

Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Set to start in Game 1
Wallstedt is expected to start on the road against Dallas for Game 1 on Saturday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic.
Wallstedt finished the regular season with an 18-9-6 record, 2.61 GAA and .915 save percentage across 35 appearances. Minnesota's Filip Gustavsson appeared in more regular-season games (50), but he struggled down the stretch, posting a 4.25 GAA and an .836 save percentage across his final six outings, which helps explain why Wallstedt is getting this opportunity. In contrast to Gustavsson, Wallstedt went 4-2-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .935 save percentage over seven appearances to end the 2025-26 campaign. The Stars will be a challenging adversary -- they were ninth in goals per game during the regular season with an average of 3.33.
