  • Adam Lowry C | WPG

Jets' Adam Lowry: Nets shortie in loss

Lowry scored a shorthanded goal on three shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Panthers.

Lowry hadn't scored since Oct. 5 versus the Penguins, and he had just one assist over that eight-game dry spell. The 33-year-old is not on the roster solely for offense, instead providing shutdown work at center in a middle-six role. He has two goals, three assists, 11 shots on net, 22 hits, eight blocked shots, seven PIM and a plus-3 rating over 12 contests. Lowry has earned at least one shorthanded point in every season since 2018-19.

  • Sam Reinhart C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Strikes on power play

Reinhart scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Reinhart restored a three-goal lead for the Panthers after Adam Lowry's shorthanded tally got the Jets on the board. The 30-year-old Reinhart has a goal and an assist over his last two games. He's run streaky this season but should continue to see prominent minutes in Florida's offense. Reinhart has six goals, four assists, 39 shots, 21 hits and an even plus-minus rating across 13 outings.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Tending twine Wednesday

Blackwood will start Wednesday's home game against the Devils, Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now reports.

Blackwood has alternated wins and losses over his last three starts, and he'll return to the crease Wednesday for the second time in Colorado's last four games. Across his first eight starts of the regular season, he's gone 5-3-0 with a 2.91 GAA and .893 save percentage.

  • Capitals' Mitchell Gibson: Sent to minors

Gibson was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Wednesday, per the NHL media site.

Gibson was with the Capitals because Logan Thompson (lower body) was on injured reserve. However, Thompson has been activated, so Gibson's presence on the NHL roster was no longer needed. The 27-year-old Gibson didn't make his NHL debut during his stint with the team. He has a 3.50 GAA and an .881 save percentage in two appearances with Hershey in 2026-27.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Off IR, slated starter Wednesday

Thompson (lower body) is off injured reserve, per the NHL media site, and he's slated to start at home against Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Thompson was the first goaltender off the ice following Wednesday's morning skate, per Sammi Silber of The District Standard. Although the first goalie off the ice is usually a great indicator of who the starter will be, Thompson was initially listed as a game-time decision. However, now that he's off IR and third-string goalie Mitchell Gibson has been reassigned to the minors, it's fair to believe that Thompson's healthy enough to play against the Flyers. Thompson has a 4-3-0 record, 2.90 GAA and .901 save percentage in seven outings with Washington in 2026-27.

  • Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Sets up both goals in win

Matheson posted two assists, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Blues.

Matheson has a goal and two helpers over three games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The defenseman set up goals by Zachary Bolduc and Florian Xhekaj in this narrow win. Matheson has four points, 14 shots on net, 13 blocks, five hits, six PIM and a plus-1 rating over eight appearances this season.

  • Noah Cates LW | PHI

Flyers' Noah Cates: Buries goal in overtime loss

Cates scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.

Cates has picked up the pace lately, earning all three of his points (one goal, two assists) over the last four games. That's helped him solidify his place in the middle six, though he continues to see little power-play time. Cates has added 12 shots on net, 11 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 14 appearances. He'll have a little fantasy value in deeper formats if he can get back to the pace that saw him produce 47 points in 82 regular-season outings last year.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Adds two assists

Werenski notched two assists and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers.

Werenski earned multiple points in a game for the first time since his two-assist effort against the Sabres on Opening Night. The defenseman hasn't had a lot of chances to shine yet given the Blue Jackets' light schedule in October. He's still doing well with eight assists, 29 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 10 contests while averaging 28:55 of ice time. He's scored 20-plus goals in consecutive years and has point-per-game potential.

  • Sharks' Luca Cagnoni: Sent down Wednesday

Cagnoni was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Wednesday.

Cagnoni made the Sharks' Opening Night roster following an impressive training camp, and he's recorded a goal, an assist, 11 blocked shots, four PIM and a hit while averaging 17:29 of ice time over nine appearances. However, he had appeared in just two of the team's last six games and should have more consistent opportunities to make an impact in the minors.

  • Sharks' Filip Bystedt: Up from minors

Bystedt was called up by the Sharks on Friday, per Max Miller of Sharks Hockey Digest.

Bystedt has four goals and eight points in eight appearances with AHL San Jose in 2026-27. The 22-year-old was similarly dominant offensively in the AHL during the 2025-26 regular season with 22 goals and 60 points in 65 outings, but he hasn't made his NHL debut yet. It's possible Bystedt will get that chance Thursday versus Vancouver, but that hasn't been announced.
