  • Chris Kreider LW | MON

Chris Kreider: Placed on unconditional waivers

The Ducks placed Kreider on unconditional waivers for the purposes of contract termination Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Kreider has expressed an interest in playing closer to the East Coast, and he'll be free to seek out other opportunities as an unrestricted free agent if he passes through waivers. Kreider was traded to the Ducks from the Rangers in June of 2025, and he recorded 22 goals, 28 assists, 69 hits, 34 PIM and 20 blocked shots across 75 regular-season appearances with Anaheim last year.

  • Alex DeBrincat RW | DET

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Hopes to remain in Detroit past this season

DeBrincat has indicated that he hopes to remain in Detroit past the 2026-27 campaign, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports Wednesday.

Although teammate Dylan Larkin requested a trade earlier in the offseason, DeBrincat has expressed interest in a long-term extension. The 28-year-old DeBrincat said that he expects contract negotiations to begin after the Red Wings hire a new general manager. DeBrincat hasn't missed a regular-season game in the past five years. He had one of the best performances of his career during the 2025-26 campaign, recording 41 goals, 44 assists, 39 blocked shots, 38 hits and 19 PIM.

  • Hurricanes' Justin Robidas: Signs two-way contract

Robidas signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Robidas has spent most of the past two campaigns playing for AHL Chicago, while appearing in only four NHL games during that span. He logged 23 goals, 37 assists and 14 PIM across 58 regular-season appearances in the minors last year. He will likely spend most of 2026-27 in the AHL, assuming he clears waivers.

  • Hurricanes' Skyler Brind'Amour: Returning to Carolina

Brind'Amour signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Brind'Amour has appeared in six regular-season games with the Hurricanes across the past two years, recording a goal, six hits, four PIM and a blocked shot while averaging 15:32 of ice time per game. He generated 16 goals, 18 assists and 36 PIM across 68 regular-season appearances with AHL Chicago in 2025-26. He'll likely spend most of the 2026-27 campaign in the minors.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Likely to re-sign before camp

Fantilli is still a restricted free agent, but general manager Don Waddell is confident that a deal will be reached before training camp, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports Wednesday.

Fantilli is coming off his entry-level contract. The 21-year-old had 24 goals and 59 points in 82 regular-season outings in 2025-26, which marked his second straight campaign with over 20 goals and 50 points. It seems fair to believe he's due for a big payday, especially after Leo Carlsson -- who signed a five-year, $90 million contract after supplying 29 goals and 67 points in 70 regular-season appearances with Anaheim last year -- redefined what promising young forwards can expect. Fantilli was taken with the No. 3 overall pick and has the potential to take a meaningful step forward offensively in 2026-27.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Set for training camp

Forsling (undisclosed) has been participating in informal skates ahead of training camp, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports Tuesday.

Forsling had two goals, 28 points, 112 shots on net, 98 blocked shots and 52 hits in 80 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. He sat out Florida's final game of the campaign, but he should be fine for the beginning of camp.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Recovery going as planned

Bedard's recovery from shoulder surgery is going as planned, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports Tuesday.

Bedard is expected to be on the ice but limited at this point. It's unclear how much he'll be participating in activities at training camp -- he will be restricted by his ongoing recovery, which is set to have him sidelined into November. At this point, the Blackhawks aren't sure if he is ahead of schedule, so fantasy managers taking Bedard should still expect him to be out for at least a month, if not longer. More information should be available once team activities begin in earnest in the second half of September.

  • Tyson Jost C | NSH

Predators' Tyson Jost: Agrees to professional tryout

Jost signed a professional tryout agreement with Nashville on Tuesday, according to PuckPedia.

Jost produced eight goals, 16 points, 95 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and 67 hits across 69 regular-season appearances with the Predators in 2025-26. If he secures a standard contract for the 2026-27 campaign, he will probably occupy a depth role.

  • Artem Zub D | OTT

Senators' Artem Zub: Continues recovery before camp

Zub (lower body) is continuing to rehab from injury, but he expects to be ready for the Senators' training camp, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Zub suffered the lower-body injury during Ottawa's first-round playoff series. Before getting hurt, he recorded 25 assists, 30 points, 92 shots on net, 66 hits and 120 blocked shots across 81 regular-season games. His current injury is something to monitor ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, but it sounds as if he will be ready to go for Opening Night, barring any setbacks. Provided he's healthy, Zub should provide fantasy managers with solid category coverage this season.

  • Hurricanes' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Inks one-year deal

Joseph signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with Carolina on Tuesday.

Joseph accounted for one goal, five assists, 22 shots on net, 28 blocked shots and 18 hits in 31 appearances with Vancouver in the 2025-26 regular season. He will compete for a depth role with Carolina during training camp ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
