  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Natural hatty in five-point game

Thompson scored three goals on four shots and added two power-play assists in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Ducks.

Thompson scored the last goal of a frenetic first period and tallied two goals in a 15-second span late in the second to earn the natural hat trick. He had as many points Thursday as he had in his previous seven games combined. Thompson can do this every now and then -- he is a three-time 40-goal scorer, after all. He has eight tallies, seven helpers, 55 shots, 10 hits and a plus-4 rating through 13 outings in a top-line role this season.

  • Will Smith C | SJ

Sharks' Will Smith: Erases deficit in comeback win

Smith scored twice, including once on the power play, in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.

Smith had the Sharks' first two goals, erasing a 2-0 deficit. This was his first multi-point effort since Opening Night versus the Panthers. Smith had been bumped down to the second line recently, but a reunion with Macklin Celebrini on the top line was the catalyst for this comeback win. Smith has six goals, four assists, 38 shots on net and a minus-7 rating across 14 appearances this season.

  • Ross Colton C | NSH

Predators' Ross Colton: Scores in loss

Colton scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Capitals.

Colton snapped a seven-game goal drought with the tally. He had one assist in that span. While there's a few extra minutes for forwards up for grabs when the Predators dress seven blueliners, Colton remains functionally in a fourth-line spot. He has four points, 18 shots, 36 hits, 10 blocked shots, four PIM and a minus-3 rating across 13 outings this season.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Modest three-game scoring streak

Point scored a goal Thursday in a 6-4 win over Winnipeg.

Point has quietly put up a three-game, four-point scoring streak that includes goals in back-to-back games. It's modest, but when you factor in that he's has just three goals in 12 games, this little run is like the sun breaking through the clouds. Point put up just 18 snipes in 63 games in an injury-hampered 2025-26. But his 14.0 shooting percentage last season was below his career 18.3, and he's off to a similarly sluggish start this year (12.0). It could be a simple explanation given the Bolts bad power play (26th overall), but his skating simply isn't the same these last two years.

  • Boone Jenner C | WAS

Capitals' Boone Jenner: Buries goal in win

Jenner scored a goal and added a pair of hits in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Predators.

Jenner had gone a season-high three games without a point prior to Thursday. The veteran forward has been a decent source of scoring depth for the Capitals in a fourth-line role, and he's also firmed up his place in the lineup with his usual defensive work. He has five goals, one assist, 26 shots on net, 17 hits, 12 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 12 appearances.

  • Lightning's Anthony Cirelli: Three-point effort in win

Cirelli had a goal and two assists in Thursday's 6-4 win over Winnipeg.

His first helper was Cirelli's 200th in the NHL. He has four goals, four assists, eight hits, seven blocks and 17 shots in 12 games, which puts him on a mid-50s point pace. Add on Cirelli's face-off success (116 FW) so far, and you have an solid mid-level fantasy play in deep formats.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Gets team's only goal

Bedard netted a goal Thursday in a 4-1 loss to Detroit.

Bedard deflected a point shot that hit John Gibson in the pads, and then he knocked the rebound in five-hole. The young superstar is on a modest four-game, four-point (two goals, two assists) streak. Bedard can't carry this team alone, though -- the Blackhawks sit second-last in the NHL with a 4-9-0 record in 13 games.

  • Blues' Otto Stenberg: Returns to AHL

Stenberg was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Thursday.

Stenberg logged one assist over three outings with the big club. He was scratched for the previous two games, and the Blues would likely rather him be playing regularly in the AHL than watching from the press box.

  • Dylan Larkin C | DET

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Suspended without pay

The Red Wings suspended Larkin without pay Thursday as a result of his decision to no longer play for the team.

Larkin's desire to be traded has been known since the summer, but he nevertheless reported for training camp and initially played for the Red Wings. He had two goals and six points in 10 appearances in 2026-27 before the suspension, including a key goal in Detroit's 4-3 shootout win over Edmonton on Monday. The victory might go down as Larkin's final game as a member of the Red Wings, who will continue to look for a trade involving the 30-year-old forward.

  • Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Called up by Detroit

Dries was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday under emergency conditions.

Dries spent a week and a half with the Red Wings earlier this month, and he was held scoreless with 19 hits, six blocked shots and a minus-3 rating while averaging 9:45 of ice time across six appearances. He'll rejoin the NHL club to provide additional depth while the Red Wings deal with several absences among their forwards.
