  • Noah Sewell LB | CHI

Bears' Noah Sewell: Beginning camp on PUP list

Chicago placed Sewell (Achilles) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.

This news doesn't come as a surprise, as Sewell is still working his way back from the torn Achilles he suffered in late December last year. It's not yet clear what the linebacker's timeline to return is, though he's expected to be able to get back on the field at some point this season. When healthy, Sewell is likely to have a role as a rotational linebacker while also contributing on special teams.

  • Kyler Gordon CB | CHI

Bears' Kyler Gordon: Lands on PUP list

The Bears placed Gordon (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.

Gordon isn't ready for the start of training camp due to another occurrence of a soft-tissue injury. Similar issues limited the standout cornerback to just three regular-season games in 2025, and he's played more than 14 contests in just one of his four NFL campaigns. With that said, Gordon's effectiveness when healthy means he'll be locked into a prominent role in the defensive backfield if he's able to shake the injury in time for Week 1.

  • T.J. Edwards LB | CHI

Bears' T.J. Edwards: Not ready for start of camp

The Bears placed Edwards (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Saturday, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.

Edwards suffered a fractured fibula in the Bears' wild-card win over Green Bay in January, but the issue he's currently dealing with has been deemed a "minor muscle strain," per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. That's relatively positive news, as the veteran linebacker is not expected to be sidelined for long. Injuries limited Edwards to just 10 regular-season games last year, but prior to that he had played in every regular-season contest for three straight campaigns.

  • Nick Emmanwori SAF | SEA

Seahawks' Nick Emmanwori: Uncertainty about Week 1 status

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald responded "I don't know" Saturday when asked about Emmanwori's (ankle) potential availability for Week 1 of the regular season, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

An earlier report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com indicated that Emmanwori would likely be ready to go by the regular-season opener, but there's reason to be at least a little less optimistic about that scenario following Macdonald's comments. Per Bell, Macdonald also confirmed that the surgery Emmanwori underwent recently was tied to the sprained ankle he suffered four days before Super Bowl LX. While the standout defensive back doesn't currently have a definitive timeline to return to the field, Macdonald indicated that Emmanwori isn't dealing with a serious, long-term issue.

  • Kobe Prentice WR | CAR

Patriots' Kobe Prentice: Claimed by New England

The Patriots claimed Prentice off waivers Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Prentice is headed to New England after having been waived by the Panthers on Friday. The rookie undrafted free agent will now spend the remainder of the offseason competing for a spot on the Patriots' final roster.

  • Tyler Baron DE | NYJ

Jets' Tyler Baron: Starting training camp on PUP list

The Jets placed Baron (knee) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. reports.

Baron is currently battling a knee injury, forcing him to miss the start of training camp. While the 24-year-old is still eligible to be with the team, he won't be able to practice until he's officially activated.

  • Cardinals' Paris Johnson: Activated off PUP list

The Cardinals activated Johnson (undisclosed) off the active/PUP list Saturday.

Johnson is healthy again after having spent just two days on the PUP list due to an undisclosed issue. The 25-year-old will once again serve as Arizona's starting left tackle during the upcoming campaign.

  • Panthers' DeCarlos Nicholson: Headed to Carolina

The Panthers signed Nicholson on Saturday.

Nicholson is officially headed to Carolina after having worked out with the team Friday. The 24-year-old will now spend the remainder of the offseason competing for a depth spot on the team's final roster.

  • Fred Davis II CB | WAS

Commanders' Fred Davis: Placed on NFI list

The Commanders placed Davis (undisclosed) on the active/non-football illness list Saturday.

Davis will start training camp on the sideline after seemingly picking up an illness away from the field. The 24-year-old joined Washington as an undrafted free agent in May and will look to earn a spot on the team's final roster once healthy.

  • Commanders' Deatrich Wise: Starting training camp on PUP

The Commanders placed Wise (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Saturday.

Wise missed nearly the entire 2025 campaign due to a quadriceps injury and is now dealing with an undisclosed issue to open up training camp. While there's currently no timetable for the 31-year-old's return, he will be eligible to participate in practice once healthy but will be limited to side work until then.
