Saints' Jordyn Tyson: On a maintenance plan
Tyson, who practiced once during the Saints' two-day rookie minicamp earlier this month, was one of several players on a "maintenance plan" to build them back up after having previously missed time with an injury, Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports.
At the time, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football noted that Tyson, who was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, dealt with a hamstring issue during the pre-draft process, so it's not surprising that the team was inclined to manage the wideout's reps during the rookie minicamp. Next up for Tyson and his teammates will be OTA sessions May 27-28, at which point Tyson will have an opportunity to work toward claiming a key role in a New Orleans passing offense that also features WR Chris Olave and TE Juwan Johnson. As long as he can avoid the injury bug going forward, Tyson is on track to earn significant snaps out of the gate this season alongside Olave, a context that could result in immediate fantasy relevance for Tyson, an Arizona State product.

Saints' Jordyn Tyson: Sits out of Saturday's practice
Tyson did not participate in Saturday's rookie minicamp practice due to a "minor injury," Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Saints head coach Kellen Moore clarified that Tyson is dealing with a soft-tissue injury and that his absence Saturday was planned, per Underhill. Tyson participated in Friday's session, and there's no indication that it will impact his ability to participate in future offseason programs. The Arizona State product was the eighth overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, and his addition gives the Saints a lethal one-two punch at wide receiver with Tyson working alongside Chris Olave.

Saints' Jordyn Tyson: Selected by Saints
The Saints selected Tyson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, eighth overall.
Tyson (6-foot-2, 203 pounds) had the best collegiate production profile between himself and fellow top wideout prospects Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon, but Tyson's injury history understandably caused some anxiety and until Thursday it was unclear whether NFL teams would red-flag Tyson over those injury concerns. That Tyson was picked this early seems to answer the question - the Saints looked into his knee and hamstring injuries and evidently decided to bet on his talent. Tyson suffered a torn ACL, MCL and PCL his true freshman season at Colorado, and hamstring troubles from his 2025 season followed Tyson into the offseason, leaving him unable to participate in pre-draft athletic testing. If one disregards the injuries as the NFL seemingly has, then there are otherwise only reasons to like Tyson. His production was compelling both at Arizona State and Colorado, and while Tyson won't ever be a great big-play threat he shows the ability to dice up the underneath to a high-volume extent, giving him clear 100-catch upside at the NFL level during his best years. Even as a rookie, Tyson should push for a heavy workload right away, likely running as the primary Saints wideout opposite Chris Olave.
