Calcatarra (back) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

It is unclear how long Calcatarra's back issue will keep him sidelined. The depth tight end re-signed with the Eagles in March, but has been pushed down the depth chart due to the drafting of second-round rookie Eli Stowers. Calcatarra likely has a spot on the 53-man roster locked up, and the reliable depth option merely needs to recover from the issue and continue displaying his versatility to the team.

Coach Sean Payton said Nix is expected to play roughly 14 snaps during Friday's preseason game against the Packers, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Nix was rested preseason Week 1 in Atlanta, but he'll see his first game action this week since suffering a broken bone in his right ankle during the Broncos' divisional-round win against the Bills. After undergoing surgery shortly thereafter and another clean-up procedure in April, he took part in mandatory minicamp in June and opened training camp in late July as a full participant. Considering Nix is poised to get a possession or two Friday, he likely will get to work with new WR Jaylen Waddle in a game setting for the first time.

Allar is set to play in Friday's preseason game against the Jets, Chris Adamski of TribLive.com reports.

Allar will check into the game at an undetermined time after starter Will Howard finishes his reps. Allar and Howard are likely battling for a roster spot, with Allar's three-touchdown performance and 154.8 passer rating in last Thursday's preseason opener against the Packers being the standard Howard will likely need to match to keep up on the depth chart.

Howard is set to start Friday's preseason game against the Jets, Chris Adamski of TribLive.com reports.

Howard will start the contest before eventually handing the reins off to rookie Drew Allar. The 2025 sixth-round pick appears to be competing with Allar for a 53-man roster spot, meaning Friday's game should be important for both young quarterbacks.

Rudolph will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Jets, Chris Adamski of TribLive.com reports.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that he "saw what I need to see from Mason last week," implying the veteran quarterback has a place on the team for 2026. Friday's game will be dominated by Will Howard and Drew Allar, one of whom is presumably the Steelers' quarterback of the future once Aaron Rodgers retires.

McCollum (groin) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Chiefs, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

McCollum has missed the last week of practice with a persisting groin issue, iHeartRadio reports. The Buccaneers want the cornerback to focus on a full recovery, and as such, any chance of suiting up for Saturday's game has vanished. Fellow starting cornerback Benjamin Morrison also may not play in the contest, leaving Damarion Williams and Josh Hayes as the most likely recipients of the starting snap share.

The Eagles are worried Greenard (pectoral) could miss the Week 1 divisional showdown with the Commanders due to injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Greenard remains on the active/PUP list with a pectoral injury he sustained in the offseason while lifting weights. The starting strongside linebacker was initially projected to be ready to go around the late preseason, but it appears the 29-year-old's recovery process is behind schedule. If Greenard is unable to suit up for Week 1, Jalyx Hunt will likely start for the team at strongside linebacker.

Coach Shane Steichen told Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis on Wednesday that Pierce (ankle) is "in a great spot right now. ... Hopefully, we will have him back soon."

When Pierce initially underwent a clean-up procedure on his left ankle in April, he was facing a three-month recovery timetable. He then kicked off training camp on the active/PUP list, where he remains as of Wednesday. On Tuesday, Pierce put in some individual work on the side under the supervision of a trainer, and Steichen noted that the wide receiver was "moving around really good." Once Pierce gets healthy -- whenever that may be -- he'll be looking to justify the four-year, $114 million contract he signed with the Colts back in March.

The Jets signed Bergen to a contract Wednesday, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.

Bergen was waived by the 49ers last Wednesday and was able to clear waivers. The second-year wide receiver has not yet appeared in a regular-season game. The Jets waived/injured wide receiver DT Sheffield (undisclosed) in a corresponding move.

Chaisson suffered a knee injury in last week's joint practice with the Dolphins, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.

Chaisson did not participate in Tuesday's practice due to the injury. With Jer'Zhan Newton (pec) and Odafe Oweh (calf) also sustaining injuries, the Commanders' defensive line looks like it has taken a huge step back just one week into the preseason. Chaisson's return timeline is unclear, and the team will likely look to add a depth pass rusher in free agency ahead of Saturday's preseason game against the Lions.
