Boutte is aware of the trade rumors surrounding him but hopes to remain with the Patriots, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.

The Patriots signed Romeo Doubs and traded for A.J. Brown in the offseason, creating a logjam in a wide receiver room that also includes Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism. Boutte is reportedly off to a strong start at training camp, so he hasn't allowed the trade rumors to affect his performance so far. The 2023 sixth-round pick is entering the final season of his rookie contract.

Whittington looks like the early leader in the competition for the Rams' No. 3 receiver job, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire.

We've heard this before at a similar time of the year, and while Whittington has seen a few opportunities as the No. 3 receiver, it's rarely amounted to much in terms of routes and targets. The job bounced around between a slew of players last year, including Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield, both of whom are still on the team. The Rams also have rookie sixth-round pick CJ Daniels as a dark horse candidate for the job. In any case, the offense likely will use a lot of multi-TE formations, limiting the WR3's snap and route shares.

Kelce was one of Kansas City's standout performers on the first day of training camp, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.

"He looked pretty good," head coach Andy Reid said of Kelce. "He stayed in shape." Kelce had an eventful offseason ahead of his 14th NFL seasons, as he married Taylor Swift on July 3. The 36-year-old tight end recorded at least 823 regular-season receiving yards in each of the previous 12 campaigns.

Legette is expected to compete with John Metchie and David Moore for the No. 3 receiver job after teammate Chris Brazzell suffered a season-ending LCL tear, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports.

A 2024 first-round pick, Legette will need to prove himself even if the competition looks weak. He struggled through his first two NFL seasons and fell decisively behind Jalen Coker on the depth chart last year. Ona positive note, Legette told reporters in June that he was down to 221 pounds after playing at around 230 last year.

Brazzell (knee) will soon have season-ending surgery on the LCL tear he suffered Wednesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Initial reports suggested Brazzell would miss around two months, but that was assuming he could recover without surgery. After getting a second opinion, Brazzell will undergo surgery and presumably spend the entirety of his rookie season on injured reserve. With the 2026 third-round pick out of the equation, Xavier Legette and John Metchie are the strongest candidates for the No. 3 WR role behind locked-in starters Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker. The timing of Brazzell's injury (July 29) should allow him to come back at full health for Carolina's offseason program in 2027.

Stowers (lower body) is practicing at the first week of training camp, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The rookie second-round pick missed a few spring practices with an unspecified lower body injury. Now healthy, Stowers will have the next few weeks to make his case for a role in Philadelphia's offense. Dallas Goedert returns as the starter and has a long track record of handling huge snap shares.

York (groin) went 6-for-6 on field-goal attempts at Thursday's practice, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.

York had been sidelined by a groin injury but has recovered and connected on kicks of 34, 36, 39, 42, 45 and 48 yards Thursday. The Jets' kicker competition between York and Jason Sanders is a long way from being settled, but Thursday's practice marked a point in York's corner, as Sanders missed his 48-yard attempt.

Mayfield said Thursday that he felt "disrespected a little bit" during contract negotiations with the Buccaneers this summer, ESPN.com's Jenna Laine reports.

Mayfield wanted to get a deal done before training camp but apparently never came close. He did suggest his agent could remain in contact with the team while Mayfield turns his attention to the practice field and his teammates. "If you've waited this long to take care of your franchise quarterback, that's too bad," said Mayfield. "Because it's only going to get worse from here. I'm going to have a really big year."

Trusbisky (tightness) returned to practice Thursday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Trubisky had been considered day-to-day due to general tightness, but the veteran backup has recovered from that issue. He's competing against Will Levis for the second spot on the quarterback depth chart behind 2025 first overall pick Cam Ward.

Sanders is taking first-team reps at Thursday's practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Deshaun Watson took all the first-team reps Wednesday, while Thursday marks Sanders' turn to work with the starters as the Browns evaluate their quarterbacks in training camp. A regular-season starter between Watson or Sanders is unlikely to be determined until after both players have had a chance to make their case in game action during the preseason.
