Cade Klubnik QB | NYJ
Jets' Cade Klubnik: Follows Smith in Friday's preseason win
Klubnik completed 10 of 14 passes for 75 yards and recorded a 16-yard carry during the Jets' 17-0 preseason win over the Steelers on Friday.
Geno Smith commanded the Jets on the first offensive series and led a 10-play, 69-yard drive that ended with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jelani Woods. Klubnik took over on the second series and ended up playing more snaps than he did in the Jets' preseason opener against the Buccaneers. However, he could not lead the offense on any scoring drives, and part of the issue for the rookie fourth-rounder was that he was playing with the second-team offensive line. Klubnik appears to be ahead of both Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe for the backup QB job behind Geno Smith heading into the Jets' preseason finale against the Giants next Friday.

Jason Sanders K | NYJ
Jets' Jason Sanders: Perfect in win
Sanders converted his sole field-goal attempt and only PAT in Friday night's preseason game against the Steelers.
Sanders contributed four of the Jets' 17 points, making his 39-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Cade York initially started the game for the Jets, missing a field goal in the second quarter. Sanders' performance likely further increased his chances of securing the starting role for the 2026 regular season.

Isaiah Davis RB | NYJ
Jets' Isaiah Davis: Doesn't play vs. Pittsburgh
Davis (knee) did not play in the Jets' 17-0 preseason win over the Steelers on Friday.
Davis has missed the Jets' first two preseason games due to a knee injury he sustained in training camp practice in early August. He's trending on the doubtful side of suiting up for the Jets' preseason finale against the Giants next Friday, but he could be available for the regular-season opener against the Titans on Sunday, Sept. 13. With Breece Hall (groin) also sidelined, Braelon Allen will serve as the Jets' top running back in practices, with Kene Nwangwu, Chip Trayanum and Sam Scott all in line for additional reps.

Khalil Shakir WR | BUF
Bills' Khalil Shakir: Won't play Saturday
Shakir (undisclosed) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against Cleveland, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Shakir will join DJ Moore, Keon Coleman (foot/toe), Joshua Palmer and Skyler Bell (lower body) on the sidelines for Saturday's exhibition contest. Shakir is currently working through an unspecified injury, and while it doesn't appear to be a severe issue, it could prevent him from playing in the Bills' preseason finale against the Steelers on Thursday.
-
Skyler Bell WR | BUF
Bills' Skyler Bell: Won't play Saturday
Bell (lower body) will not participate in Saturday's preseason game against the Browns, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Bell has been limited in practice due to a lower-body injury he sustained in practice before last week's preseason opener against the Panthers. The Bills made it clear the injury was very surmountable, but the team is being careful with the rookie fourth-rounder until the regular season commences.
-
Brenen Thompson WR | LAC
Chargers' Brenen Thompson: Absent from Saturday's practice
Thompson (undisclosed) did not participate in Saturday's practice, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.
Thompson exited Thursday's preseason game against the 49ers early due to injury. He was taken to the blue medical tent and his night was promptly over. It remains unclear what type of injury Thompson is dealing with, but a quick exit and inability to practice are not good signs. If the 23-year-old must miss time, KeAndre Lambert-Smith could see significantly more attention in the rest of the preseason and the start of the regular season.
-
Tre Harris WR | LAC
Chargers' Tre' Harris: Practicing Saturday
Harris (undisclosed) will participate in Saturday's training camp practice, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.
Harris was held out of Thursday's preseason game against the 49ers due to an unspecified injury. It doesn't appear to be a severe issue, as he'll be back on the field for Saturday's practice, putting him on track to play in the Chargers' preseason finale against the Rams on Thursday. Harris is slated to serve as the team's WR3 behind Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston (lower body).
-
Keon Coleman WR | BUF
Bills' Keon Coleman: Not slated to play Saturday
Coleman (right foot/toe) isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Coleman suffered a sprained right foot/toe during the Bills' preseason opener against the Panthers this past Saturday, when he caught three passes (on four targets) for 17 yards and a touchdown in a 29-14 win. Coleman will be joined by DJ Moore, Khalil Shakir (undisclosed), Joshua Palmer and Skyler Bell (lower body) on the sidelines for Saturday's exhibition contest, leaving Mecole Hardman, Trent Sherfield and Dante Pettis as the Bills' top pass catchers

K.C. Ossai LB | HOU
Texans' K.C. Ossai: Placed on injured reserve
The Texans placed Ossai (undisclosed) on injured reserve Saturday.
Ossai persisted through a separate issue to be activated off the active/PUP list for training camp in late July. The linebacker has unfortunately succumbed to yet another injury and could now miss the entirety of the 2026 regular season on the Texans' IR. Ossai will need to reach an injury settlement with the Texans if he wants to attempt a return to football with another team in 2026.
-
Jerry Jeudy WR | CLE
Browns' Jerry Jeudy: Not playing Saturday
Jeudy will not play in the Browns' preseason game against the Bills on Saturday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Jeudy played in the Browns' preseason opener against the Bears this past Saturday, when he caught both of his targets for 18 yards in a 34-10 loss. Jeudy, KC Concepcion and Cedric Tillman (undisclosed) will be sidelined against Buffalo, so Denzel Boston will lead the Browns' wide receiver corps, with Isaiah Bond, Tylan Wallace and Malachi Corley also in line for additional reps.
