Josh Downs WR | IND
Colts' Josh Downs: Misses practice Wednesday
Downs (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, the Indianapolis Star reports.
Downs left practice Aug. 14 with a hamstring injury and didn't play in Saturday's preseason game. He's unlikely to play in Indy's final preseason game, so the severity of the injury may not become more clear until practice next week ahead of the start of the regular season.

Kaden Prather WR | BUF
Bills' Kaden Prather: Reverts to IR
Prather (undisclosed) went unclaimed on waivers and reverted to injured reserve, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Prather missed a large portion of training camp due to a hamstring issue and was waived just one day after returning to practice. He'll need to agree to be waived with an injury settlement in order to have a chance to suit up in 2025.

Malik Knowles WR | SF
49ers' Malik Knowles: Signs with 49ers
The 49ers signed Knowles on Wednesday.
Knowles will return to San Francisco after spending time with the team earlier in the summer and then being waived. He will provide the team some much-needed depth at receiver, as Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings (calf), Jacob Cowing (hamstring) and Jordan Watkins (ankle) are all dealing with injuries in addition to Demarcus Robinson being suspended for the first three games of the season.

Skyy Moore WR | GB
49ers' Skyy Moore: New opportunity with 49ers
Moore was traded from the Chiefs to the 49ers on Wednesday for a swap of late-round picks, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Moore was on the roster bubble in Kansas City but will now get a new home. He isn't likely to ever deliver on the hype he received as a second-round pick in 2022, but he could have a role in the short term with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and Demarcus Robinson (suspension) in line to miss the beginning of the season.

Joshua Cephus WR | JAC
Joshua Cephus: Let go by Jaguars
The Jaguars waived Cephus (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Wednesday.
Cephus had signed a reserve/future contract with Jacksonville after he spent last season on its practice squad but he was unable to stand out in training camp. He will now look to get healthy and catch on with another team.

Grant DuBose WR | BUF
Bills' Grant DuBose: Suffers injury in practice
DuBose suffered a shoulder injury during Buffalo's practice Wednesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
DuBose was carted off the field after falling on his shoulder during a drill, leaving his status up in the air for the Saturday's preseason game versus the Buccaneers. The 24-year-old had just signed with the Bills on Tuesday, and it's currently unclear how long he'll be sidelined.
-
Giles Jackson WR | PHI
Giles Jackson: Let go by Philadelphia
The Eagles waived Jackson on Wednesday.
Jackson signed with the Eagles in early May as an undrafted free agent, but he'll be on the lookout for another team in need of pass-catching depth once he clears waivers. Jackson finished his final season at Washington with 85 catches for 893 yards and seven touchdowns across 13 games.

Devaughn Vele WR | NO
Saints' Devaughn Vele: Traded to New Orleans
The Broncos agreed to terms Wednesday on a deal that sends Vele to the Saints in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick.
Vele is coming off a rookie season in which he compiled a 41-475-3 receiving line, working mostly as a slot specialist. That production is relatively impressive for a seventh-round pick who suited up for only 13 regular-season games in 2024, but with Denver's offseason additions to the receiving corps he's now been working with the second-team offense throughout training camp. With New Orleans, Vele figures to benefit from a clearer path to slot snaps behind starting wideouts Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks. He'll now have just under three weeks to build chemistry with quarterbacks Spencer Rattler, Tyler Shough and Jake Haener, though, while facing the task of picking up a new playbook in head coach Kellen Moore's complex offense.

Jordan Addison WR | MIN
Vikings' Jordan Addison: No notable injury
Addison (suspension) did not sustain a significant injury upon departing Wednesday's practice early and will have no limitations going forward, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Addison appeared to hurt his hand or arm Wednesday, resulting in him spending the rest of practice off the field as an observer. That he's avoided any sort of serious issue is an especially positive development considering that both Justin Jefferson (hamstring) and Jalen Nailor (hand) currently are nursing injuries of their own. Jefferson, at least, returned to practice Monday and has begun ramping up his activity level with the goal of being fully healthy for Week 1 against the Bears on Monday, Sept. 8. Addison, for his part, will miss time early in the regular season due to his three-game suspension, though he'll be allowed to suit up for Friday's preseason finale against the Titans if coach Kevin O'Connell decides to play his starters.
