Anthony Miller WR | BAL
49ers' Anthony Miller: Signs in San Francisco
The 49ers signed Miller to a contract Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Miller will get a chance to compete for an end-of-roster role in San Francisco, though Friday's exhibition matchup against the Chargers will be his last and only chance to log any preseason action. The 2018 second-round pick hasn't appear in a regular-season game since 2021, when he logged two appearances with the Texans and one with the Steelers.

Jalen Virgil WR | BUF
Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Moves to IR
Virgil (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Virgil's move to IR doesn't come as much of a surprise after it was reported he tore his meniscus and would need surgery to repair it. He'll now focus on his recovery to be ready to compete in 2024.

Laviska Shenault Jr. WR | BUF
Panthers' Laviska Shenault: In concussion protocol
Shenault was placed in the league's concussion protocol Monday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
The veteran wideout is competing for the fifth receiver job in Carolina, along with Shi Smith and Damiere Byrd. Shenault has no ties to the new coaching staff so won't be guaranteed anything. Across 29 offensive snaps this preseason, Shenault has zero catches on three targets.

Wan'Dale Robinson WR | TEN
Giants' Wan'Dale Robinson: Runs routes Tuesday
Robinson (knee) was spotted running routes Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Robinson remains on the active/PUP list less than nine months after tearing his ACL. He's making progress, but there's a chance he opens the season on reserve/PUP, which would cost him the first four games of the year. With Robinson still on the mend, Isaiah Hodgins, Parris Campbell, Darius Slayton and rookie Jalin Hyatt have all taken snaps with the first-team offense.

Terry McLaurin WR | WAS
Commanders' Terry McLaurin: May only be day-to-day
McLaurin (toe) may only be day-to-day, and the Commanders are optimistic he'll play Week 1, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
McLaurin's early exit from Monday's preseason game was followed by a diagnosis of turf toe, an injury that doesn't necessarily equate to missed games but does come with the possibility of lingering or resurfacing problems. Multiple reports Tuesday suggest his case is a mild one, which gives him a good chance to suit up for a Week 1 home game against the Cardinals, which will take place 20 days after McLaurin suffered the initial injury. If things take a turn for the worse, Dyami Brown is the clear favorite to step in alongside Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel in three-wide formations.

Quez Watkins WR | PHI
Eagles' Quez Watkins: Easing back in
Watkins (hamstring) will be limited in practice Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Watkins has been dealing with the injury for a couple of weeks now. Although it's good news he's able to get on the practice field, it is concerning that he doesn't appear to yet be fully recovered. With that said, Week 1 is still just under three weeks away, so the 25-year-old has plenty of time to get healthy.
-
Greg Ward WR | IND
Eagles' Greg Ward: Needs day off
Ward (ankle) will not practice Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
It's not clear when Ward suffered the injury, but it'll keep him sidelined until he's recovered. The 28-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Eagles, but he may be on the bubble this year when it comes to making the 53-man roster, so a quick recovery would be ideal for the Houston product.

Amon-Ra St. Brown WR | DET
Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Doing well in recovery
Coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that St. Brown (lower leg) is "doing great" but won't suit up for Friday's preseason finale against the Panthers.
The wideout wasn't a candidate to play in Friday's exhibition matchup regardless of health after being injured last Wednesday, so being ruled out early still leaves open the possibility he could begin to practice again this week. With two-and-a-half weeks remaining until Sept. 7's regular-season opener against Kansas City, St. Brown still has time to get in some reps before Week 1.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR | SEA
Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Needs wrist surgery
Smith-Njigba suffered a broken bone in his wrist during Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Smith-Njigba will undergo surgery Tuesday, but per Schefter he could still be available Week 1 against the Rams. The rookie first-round pick reportedly suffered the injury on a highlight-reel 48-yard catch which saw him brought down just shy of the goal line. Should Smith-Njigba miss any regular-season action, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett would likely see an even bigger target share than usual.

Tylan Wallace WR | CLE
Ravens' Tylan Wallace: Looking good for roster spot
Wallace has made a strong case to be Baltimore's No. 6 receiver, scoring two TDs in two preseason games, Ryan Mink of the official team site reports.
Even with an excellent August, the 2021 fourth-round pick is unlikely to climb high on a depth chart that has Odell Beckham, Rashod Bateman, Zay Flowers, Nelson Agholor and Devin Duvernay. Wallace does make a lot of sense for the final WR spot, assuming the Ravens keep six, as he's played 399 snaps on special teams (compared to 161 on offense) through 26 career games.
