  • Jalen Wayne WR | GB

    Jalen Wayne: Gets cut loose

Wayne was waived by the Browns on Sunday.

Wayne opened the offseason with the Bills after going undrafted out of South Alabama. He found his way to Cleveland after Buffalo waived him near the end of July, but ultimately, he was not able to secure a roster spot to start the season. He'll now need to work to find a chance elsewhere, likely on a practice squad.

  • Dylan Drummond WR | ATL

Lions' Dylan Drummond: Paces team in receptions

Drummond caught five passes for 46 yards during Friday's preseason game against the Panthers.

Drummond led the Lions in receptions, and all of them came in the first half with the second-string offense. Given the looming six-game suspension of Jameson Williams, Drummond could be making a case for a potential No. 5 or 6 receiver job in Detroit.

  • Jakeem Grant WR | ATL

Browns' Jakeem Grant: Moved to IR

The Browns placed Grant (knee) on injured reserve by the Browns on Sunday.

Grant suffered a ruptured right patellar tendon during Saturday's preseason game against the Chiefs. He was set to serve as the Browns' top kick returner in 2023, but now that he's out for the season, Cleveland will have to look elsewhere to fill those duties.

  • Dezmon Patmon WR | CAR

    Dezmon Patmon: Gets let go

Patmon was waived by the Bills on Sunday.

Patmon joined Buffalo's practice squad in January after spending the first three seasons of his career with the Colts. The 25-year-old re-signed with the team in January; however, it appears he wasn't able to make enough of an impact to crack the team's 53-man roster. He'll now have to work to pursue other opportunities.

  • Aron Cruickshank: Let go by Pittsburgh

Cruickshank, who failed to bring in any of his three targets in the Steelers' 24-0 preseason win over the Falcons on Thursday, was waived by Pittsburgh on Sunday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Cruickshank signed with the Steelers on Monday after being waived by the Bears on Aug 11. He'll have to look elsewhere for an opportunity to land on another team's practice squad.

  • Giants' Bryce Ford-Wheaton: Heads to IR

Ford-Wheaton (knee) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Ford-Wheaton suffered a torn ACL in Saturday's preseason contest against the Jets. The West Virginia product joined the team as an undrafted free agent earlier in the spring. He'll now focus on his recovery and earning another NFL opportunity in 2024.

  • Collin Johnson: Won't make team

Johnson was waived by the Giants on Sunday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Johnson missed time during training camp with a knee injury, which likely didn't help the Texas product's chances. The 25-year-old missed the 2022 campaign due to a torn Achilles, but he appeared in 12 contests with the team in 2021. He'll now seek a new opportunity elsewhere.

  • Patriots' Demario Douglas: Spotted in non-contact jersey

Douglas (shoulder) was spotted wearing a red non-contact jersey during Sunday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

The severity of the issue remains unclear, but Reiss speculates that the rookie wideout is dealing with a minor shoulder injury that occurred when he was tackled during New England's second preseason game, which was versus Green Bay. Douglas, a sixth-round pick, has been a "pleasant training camp surprise," per Chad Graff of The Athletic, and he could carve out a role in the Patriots' pass-catching corps before long.

  • Darius Slayton WR | NYG

Giants' Darius Slayton: Logs limited work during preseason

Slayton was among the many Giants starters who saw minimal action during the exhibition slate, as he played in one game during which he logged 13 offensive snaps.

Slayton's lone game action came in Week 2 of the preseason schedule, which also was the case for a majority of New York's offensive and defensive starters. It's still unclear exactly how the team's WR room will fall in terms of pecking order, but Slayton is expected to line up with the starters when the regular season kicks off. The 26-year-old recorded 46 catches (on 71 targets) for 724 yards and two touchdowns over 16 contests last season.

  • Kody Case WR | IND

    Kody Case: Gets cut loose

Case was waived by the Colts on Sunday.

Case joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in May. However, the 24-year-old will now need to seek an opportunity elsewhere, as he works to make his way onto an NFL game day roster.
