  • Rashid Shaheed WR | SEA

Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sidesteps injury report

Shaheed (groin) wasn't listed on the Saints' first Week 1 injury report Wednesday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Shaheed suffered a groin injury Aug. 5 that kept him off the practice field until Aug. 24. All along, the Saints had few concerns about the second-year receiver being ready to go by the team's season opener, and as expected, he'll be ready to play Sunday versus the Titans. Shaheed is expected to serve as New Orleans' No. 3 wideout behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas.

  • Eagles' Olamide Zaccheaus: Ready to play Week 1

Zaccheaus (shoulder) isn't listed Wednesday on the Eagles' Week 1 injury report.

Zaccheaus injured his shoulder in Philadelphia's second preseason game but didn't seem to miss much practice time thereafter. He'll most likely open his tenure with the Eagles as the No. 4 receiver this Sunday against New England, but he could end up eventually replacing Quez Watkins as the No. 3 wideout or splits snaps with him. Either way, the two are unlikely to combine for more than a handful of targets Week 1 given that AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert all are healthy.

  • Quez Watkins WR | PHI

Eagles' Quez Watkins: All set for Week 1

Watkins (hamstring) wasn't listed on the Eagles' injury report released Wednesday.

Olamide Zaccheaus also was excluded from the report after he had dealt with a shoulder injury during the second half of August. Watkins and Zaccheaus have been battling for the Eagles' No. 3 receiver role, but Watkins appears to be the favorite to keep the No. 3 job, at least to begin the season. However, a timeshare between the two receivers wouldn't be surprising as Watkins and Zaccheaus handle what profiles as a lightly targeted role so long as AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith stay healthy.

  • Panthers' Terrace Marshall: Still limited at practice Wednesday

Marshall (back) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.

Marshall's status for Sunday's game in Atlanta is still up in the air while he works his way back from a back injury that he sustained in an Aug. 14 practice. He'll still have two more chances to upgrade to full participation in practice, but if Marshall can't go Sunday, rookie Jonathan Mingo will likely be one of the largest beneficiaries in terms of snaps.

  • DeVante Parker WR | PHI

Patriots' DeVante Parker: Logs limited practice

Parker was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury.

Parker had missed time last week, but he was present for Monday's practice and was at least able to get in some reps Wednesday. As long as the wideout's knee issue doesn't worsen as the week rolls along, Parker should be available for Sunday's season opener against the Eagles. He'll probably need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid a Week 1 injury designation.

  • Marquise Brown WR | PHI

Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Dealing with hamstring issue

Brown was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Brown is no stranger to lower-body injuries, including to his hamstring. He dealt with a hamstring injury is August 2021 and again during last year's training camp. He didn't miss any official game action as a result, and his ability to handle some reps Wednesday generally is a decent sign that the current concern isn't serious. Still, Brown's status should be watched closely as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's game at Washington.

  • Texans' John Metchie: Not practicing

Metchie didn't practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Metchie has been bothered by his hamstring on and off since at least May, after losing his rookie season to the combination of an ACL tear and a leukemia diagnosis. He's now 21 months removed from the knee injury, but it's not shocking that he's having a tough time staying on the field given all he's had to deal with the past two years. Metchie appears unlikely to play Week 1 at Baltimore and might have to settle for a depth role at receiver whenever he's ready.

  • Terry McLaurin WR | WAS

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Limited in first official practice

McLaurin (toe) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.

While he may not have taken part in every aspect of practice, McLaurin looked good going through individual drills during the media-access portion of practice, according to Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site. The wideout seems to have made good progress since injuring his toe Aug. 21, with McLaurin telling John Keim of ESPN.com that he doesn't feel he has any limitations and plans to play in Sunday's game against Arizona. A return to full participation Thursday or Friday would confirm that McLaurin is on track to play this weekend and handle his usual workload.

  • Jerry Jeudy WR | CLE

Broncos' Jerry Jeudy: Limited at practice

Jeudy (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.

Renck suggested that Jeudy "appeared to be running at around 75 percent speed as he executed routes," but the wideout's ability to practice in any capacity Wednesday offers hope that he could be available for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Raiders. In order to avoid a Week 1 injury designation, however, Jeudy would presumably need to log a full practice by Friday.

  • Cooper Kupp WR | SEA

Rams' Cooper Kupp: Not playing Week 1

Rams head coach Sean McVay has ruled out Kupp (hamstring) for Sunday's season opener at Seattle, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

After Kupp aggravated his hamstring injury last week, McVay called the wideout "day-to-day," which is exactly the same label offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur gave Kupp shortly after suffering the initial injury Aug. 1. With Kupp having now been confirmed as out for Week 1, he'll await word on his recent visit to a specialist in Minnesota to get a more precise prognosis. At least for the season opener, the Rams will roll with a receiver group of Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, Puka Nacua, Ben Skowronek and Demarcus Robinson.
