Romeo Doubs WR | NE
Packers' Romeo Doubs: Sits out practice Wednesday
Doubs (hamstring) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.
Sidelined since the Packers' preseason finale due to a hamstring injury, Doubs will have just two more opportunities to get back on the field before the team potentially makes a ruling on his status for Sunday's game in Chicago. Fellow wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was also a non-participant Wednesday, leaving Green Bay woefully thin at the position if one or both are sidelined this weekend. Currently, Jayden Reed, Malik Heath, Samori Toure and Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring) are the other wideouts on the 53-man roster.

Christian Watson WR | GB
Packers' Christian Watson: Dealing with hamstring injury
Watson was a non-participant in practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Fellow wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been tending to a hamstring issue since at least Aug. 26, when he was sidelined for the Packers' preseason finale. With Watson joining Doubs on the sideline for the first official session of Week 1 prep, the statuses of both players bears monitoring Thursday and Friday to see if either is able to mix into drills. If one or both end up inactive Sunday at Chicago, Jayden Reed, Malik Heath, Samori Toure and Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring) likely would be quarterback Jordan Love's top options at receiver.

Treylon Burks WR | WAS
Titans' Treylon Burks: No limitations with knee
Burks (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Burks was quick to rebound from the LCL injury he suffered Aug. 16, returning to practice 12 days later and now heading into Week 1 without any limitations. He, DeAndre Hopkins and tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo will likely account for a huge share of the targets from quarterback Ryan Tannehill, both this season in general and Week 1 in New Orleans.

Wan'Dale Robinson WR | TEN
Giants' Wan'Dale Robinson: Officially limited Wednesday
Robinson (knee) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Robinson suffered a torn ACL in his right knee Week 11 of last season, requiring surgery to repair the injury and a stint on the active/PUP list during training camp and the preseason. The Giants removed him from the PUP list Aug. 29, and his activity level since then has been revealed. Robinson likely will need to get back to full participation in practice to be cleared for game action, but he hasn't been ruled out from playing in Sunday's contest against the Cowboys.

DJ Chark WR | ATL
Panthers' DJ Chark: No activity Wednesday
Chark (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday.
Chark was joined on the Panthers' first Week 1 injury report by fellow receivers Adam Thielen (ankle) and Terrace Marshall (back), both of whom were limited participants Wednesday. It's unclear when Chark hurt his hamstring, but he's been unable to practice since Aug. 23 and has been focusing on rehab in the interim. He'll have just two more chances this week to put himself in a position to be available to rookie quarterback Bryce Young for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

Kadarius Toney WR | CLE
Chiefs' Kadarius Toney: Ready for opener
Toney (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against Detroit.
The Chiefs listed Toney as a full practice participant at Wednesday's practice, an upgrade after he was listed as limited both of the previous two days. He's unlikely to have an every-down role early on in the season after missing most of training camp and all of the preseason, but Toney nonetheless ranks among the favorites to see targets from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the event tight end Travis Kelce (knee) is absent or limited Thursday. In terms of the receiver snaps, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore look like the safest bets to pace the position group in playing time, with other options being Toney, Justin Watson, Richie James, Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross.
-
Adam Thielen WR | PIT
Panthers' Adam Thielen: Tending to ankle issue
Thielen was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury.
The Panthers' receiving corps is banged up heading into the regular-season opener, as DJ Chark was sidelined Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, while Terrace Marshall (back) joined Thielen as a limited participant. As a result, the state of the group will be one to watch closely over the next two days of practice to see who among Thielen, Chark and Marshall are available Sunday in Atlanta.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR | SEA
Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: In line to play Sunday
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Smith-Njigba (wrist) is slated to play Sunday against the Rams, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Smith-Njigba underwent surgery Aug. 24 to repair a slight fracture in his left wrist, but he was back on the practice field five days later and continued to take part in drills this Monday. Wednesday's injury report will reveal how much work the rookie first-round pick was able to handle in the first official session of Week 1 prep, but he's trending in a positive direction to be the Seahawks' No. 3 wide receiver behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in the season opener.
-
Chase Claypool WR | BUF
Bears' Chase Claypool: Avoids injury report
Claypool (hamstring) wasn't listed on the Bears' initial Week 1 injury report released Wednesday.
Since injuring his hamstring during an Aug. 9 practice, Claypool sat out the entire preseason slate, likely with his presence for the season opener in mind. Head coach Matt Eberflus expressed as much to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic on Aug. 24, and indeed, Claypool will be ready to play Sunday against the Packers. With DJ Moore's addition to the Bears this offseason, Claypool has been bumped down to the team's third wide receiver behind Moore and Darnell Mooney, making it unclear how many targets he can expect from quarterback Justin Fields on a weekly basis.

Christian Watson WR | GB
Packers' Christian Watson: Not at practice
Watson isn't taking part in practice Wednesday, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Watson hasn't been dealing with any reported injuries in training camp or the preseason, but it's possible he may have gotten hurt during his appearance in Green Bay's exhibition finale Aug. 26. The second-year wideout could also be feeling under the weather or is tending to a personal matter, whereas fellow wideout Romeo Doubs -- also absent Wednesday -- is known to be dealing with a hamstring injury and in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Bears. Green Bay easily has the youngest receiver room in the league, with Watson and Doubs backed by three rookies (Jayden Reed, Malik Heath, Dontayvion Wicks) and a second -year pro who barely played in 2022 (Samori Toure).
