  • Cody Thompson: Bumped down to practice squad

Thompson reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Thompson was elevated ahead of Monday's game against the Giants and made his first career NFL catch for a 10-yard gain. With Dareke Young (groin) still on IR and Dee Eskridge still suspended, Thompson may find himself on the active roster again in Week 6 against the Bengals, after the team's Week 5 bye.

  • Freddie Swain WR | CHI

    Freddie Swain: Finds new opportunity

Swain signed with the Dolphins' practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Swain spent time with Miami this offseason, ultimately being waived with a settlement due to a hamstring injury. Now healthy, the fourth-year-pro will try and make the most of his second chance with the team.

  • Dontay Demus: Loses his spot

Demis was cut from the Ravens' practice squad Tuesday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.

Demus joined Baltimore as an undrafted free agent out of Maryland, and after being unable to make the 53-man roster, the receiver joined the practice squad last Tuesday. The reunion was short lived though, as the 23-year-old is now a free agent again.

  • Jacob Copeland WR | PIT

Jacob Copeland: Done with Steelers' practice squad

Pittsburgh cut Copeland from its practice squad Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

After spending three weeks with Pittsburgh's practice squad, Copeland is now set to become a free agent. The undrafted rookie has yet to play a regular-season snap.

  • Jalen Camp WR | CLE

Jalen Camp: Cut from Pittsburgh's practice team

The Steelers cut Camp from their practice squad Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Just a week after signing with Pittsburgh's practice squad, Camp is now parting ways with the team. He's a great athlete but continues to struggle to find his footing at the NFL level.

  • Marcell Ateman WR | BUF

    Marcell Ateman: Gets let go

Ateman was cut from the Bills' practice squad Tuesday.

Ateman's exit corresponds with the addition of cornerback Herb Miller to the team's practice squad. With Christian Benford dealing with a shoulder injury and Tre'Davious White suffering a season-ending torn Achilles injury, corner depth became a priority for Buffalo. Ateman last played an NFL game in 2021 and caught his last pass in 2019 while with the Raiders.

  • Frank Darby WR | SF

Frank Darby: Joins Falcons' practice squad

Atlanta signed Darby to its practice squad Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.

The Falcons parted ways with Darby prior to Week 1, but he's been reunited with the team ahead of Week 5. Atlanta is paper-thin at wide receiver behind Drake London, so it wouldn't be a big surprise to see Darby elevated sometime soon.

  • Jahan Dotson WR | ATL

Commanders' Jahan Dotson: Remains limited in practice

Dotson (ankle) was a limited participant at Tuesday's practice.

Dotson maintained limited practice participation for the second day in a row, after he was previously listed as limited during Monday's walkthrough session. The Commanders haven't suggested that Dotson is dealing with a major injury, but the team is facing a quick turnaround ahead of Thursday night's matchup with the Bears. Through Washington's first four games of the season, Dotson has produced a 14-110-1 receiving line on 25 targets.

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

Commanders' Curtis Samuel: Turns in limited practice

Samuel (quadriceps) was a limited participant at Tuesday's practice.

Washington labeled Samuel as a non-participant in Monday's walkthrough session, but he was able to take a step forward during the second day of Week 5 prep. So long as he's able to maintain limited practice participation Wednesday, Samuel should have a good chance at being available for Thursday's game against the Bears.

  • Broncos' Brandon Johnson: Hits pay dirt in win

Johnson caught his only target for four yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Bears.

Johnson made the most of his one target Sunday, finding the end zone in the third quarter to bring the Broncos within two scores of the Bears. After seeing three targets in each of the first three games, the veteran was less involved in Denver's offensive attack in Week 4. Meanwhile, rookie wideout Marvin Mims matched Johnson's offensive snap total for the first time this season, with both receivers playing 17 snaps. Through four weeks, it appears that Johnson and Russell Wilson have developed some chemistry, but Mims' big-play ability and increased involvement could point toward a changing of the guard at the No. 3 receiver spot. Nonetheless, Johnson will look to be more involved when the Broncos host the Jets' stingy defense in Week 5.
